i was talking to a friend of mine that used to have an Altima...not sure what years...but they also had a KA in it...and if we threw in the altima cams...we'd gain like 10HP...

Is any of this tru?? Please don't flame...just a bit confused and unaware....

Actually, I read something a long time ago that said the cams on 240sxs are better than the cams on the altima. Dunno how certain that is though... .

is the other way around a good idea, just in case an altima ever comes my way.

I believe the mod you're looking for is an Altima intake cam in an S14. IIRC the S13 and Altima intake cams are the same (or close), and the S14 intake cam is a little more conservative; while both S13 and S14 have a better exhaust cam than the Altima. I recall reading about this on freshalloy.net, so try a search there.

As it was explained to me, S13 240SXs and the later Altimas had the better cams, while the S14 head was slightly different with mildeer cams, so If you are looking to gain, you will need an S14 head with S13 cams...

Yea. You could also go cheaper with 1991-1993 camshafts out of the 240sx. You'll need to redowel the intake cam to work on an s14.

plus one of the cams are unusable because the distributor runs off one on only one of the KA versions

so it was the S14s that could've done the Altima cams and gained power...and not the S13s??..darn it...i thought i could've gotten a lil extra power...on my stocker than stock 93....:D

From what I've heard from the Altima boys is that the Intake cam on the Altima's are 248 degree... So instead of re-drilling a new dowel pin hole on a 240sx Exhaust cam... just get the Altima one.
