Any model, needs J30 Axles or Z32 axles. Talk to "driftfreaq" on here.

that's incorrect. you have to get one from a non turbo. the turbo lsd's are totally different. you will need to swap the output shafts from the 300zx pumpkin to your stock 240 ones. that's about it....

I had the impression that they can both fit with the right output shafts.

ok kids, lets stop spreading rumors. Your gonna make me post a differential faq if you keep it up:D ;)

first the non turbo 300zx rear would be the one you would use. You are correct on one point you cannot use the 300zx Turbo VLSD due to the fact that it is larger.
Now as far as the output shafts go . You cannot use your stock 240 output shafts . they will not work !!! Some people on Fresh Alloy have modded them to work it takes a decent amount of lathe work.
Now, Mr Full Speed Performance, its time for school. You have two options. You can order the 240 VLSD output shafts from Nissan which are pretty much on permanent back order and cost around $240 a set. Or you can use pre 95 J30 axles which will bolt up to the NA Z32(300zx) VLSD then you can bolt the setup right into your car.
Now, It just so happens I was one of the first persons to discover this specifically, because the yards, I was going to had a lot of pre 95 J30 VLSD's and 300zx VLSD's . I decided to measure the J30 axles and then tried plugging them into 240sx hubs and they worked!!!
Don't believe me on this go ask Kid Zelda . He was one of the first people to buy axles off me and went and talked about it and asked peoples opinions on FA . The FA boys checked it out and claimed it as there own find.
The rest is history. hahahhahhaha
So in a nutshell you want to run a 300zx NA VLSD then your best bet is to get a set of pre 95 J30 axles . Of which I can sell you for $150 (shameless plug here) hehehhehe:D

I don't know why I'm bothering to answer this, but "J30" is not a chassis code, it's a model name, as in the Infiniti J30, remember those?

Yeah, the J30 was a midsize RWD sedan powered by a VG30DE from the early-mid '90s. It's got a really weird looking round ass on it. The chassis code was Y32.

sorry about the misinformation. I read an install and the guy on there put his 240 shafts into it. He must have forgotten to write down that he ground it down.
