I know the subject sounds like something else but here's the problem. I am having a problem with the front side of my transmission and a slow leak/ drip. Maybe in a day, I'll have a small wet spot. This last weekend, I pulled it, and replaced the core, resealed it all and I still have the leak?
As far as the whine goes, it started after I finished the transmission, and it starts after I've been going for a little while and then stops when I apply the brakes. It may be the brakes but I'm not sure. I haven't had the chance to REALLY listen for it and figure it out. If anyone has anything on either one of these, it would be welcome.

do you know for sure where the leak is starting from? I would check two things:

1. The overfill tube that runs along the top of the tranny.
2. The tube that runs from the valve cover back to the crankcase (mine still isn't sealed very well).

Problem is, I don't have a CA18, so I'm not positive what your issue might be :(

The leak or leak(s) as best I can tell are coming from some where inside the bell housing and along the bottom of the center piece where the rear half and front half of the transmissions connect. The deal with the center section is, I don't think the sealant I used worked. I think the transmission fluid didn't let it set. As far as the inside of the bell housing goes, I have 'no idea'.

How about "Rear Main Engine Seal"

The rear main is fine. The fluid I'm leaking is tranny fluid.

well, if you really want a half ass fix just get a little bit of automatic transmission fluid, that stuff usually swells seals and if your lucky it might slow the leak

I'd rather do it right the first time. I spent the last few years doing half @$$ fixes overseas, when I didn't have the funds to get it done by a shop. Granted I am far from a shop that stocks parts for my driveline but I still prefer to do it right. The idea and comfort of knowing I've done it right is a nice a thing.

i think you should change your username to 'ProblematicDrgn'
:)
Bring it by work some day at around 4:30 so I can take a listen to it.

It's not a matter of being problematic... 'loser'... :D... It's just the simple idea of having things run smoothly.. there's nothing wrong with wanting as close to perfect as possible.. The bitter truth is, the masses don't maintain cars like they should, then there are the rest of us that try to.. there's always something to take care of.. especially when you have a car like these..
