I am shopping for an air filter for a Z32 MAF on my KA-T. I know that this is easily the most noob question I have/will ever ask, but does the air filter really make a difference on a turbo car? Will I notice any difference between a JWT POP Charger and a K&N cone filter on an adapter?
I am comparing these two options, which would you get?
Z1 Motorsports JWT Knockoff (http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_18&products_id=2566)
Z1 Motorsports K&N (http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_18&products_id=2889)

K&N is all cotton and has quality as well as experiance behind it... K&N is what i would choose... just make sure to keep whatever filter you choose clean.. :)

So the venturi in the JWT knockoff does not really make a difference?
I remember reading a benchmark test on air filters.. I don't remember the results but I suggest looking for that.
I have a JWT Pop-Charger, but It came with the car when I bought it from the looks of it seems to be pretty expensive heh

someone had a thread about the best filter where they posted some info from a third party that tested the major filter companies products and I'm pretty sure in that test they found out that k&n filters still let some dirt through, and that of the ones they tested apexi was the top (I think)
It should be on this site somewhere

Do not use an oil reliant filter on MAF set up. (K&N)
stay away from foam filters (greddy, hks)
A'pexi did the best on bench tests (not sure if blitz was in that test though)
80 bucks from frsport.com. done.

+1 for apexi
shouldnt use oily filters so the K&N is out and nothing else is as cool as the apexi :)

A'PEXi won.
The blitz filters was also in the test and performed quite poorly.

So why should i not use a oil based filter for a maf car?

paper filters work fine too. I've seen plenty of 600+ hp drag cars using paper filters... granted they were carb'd.
Anyhow, I've heard alot of good about AFE.
