For all those looking for water pump pulleys Stance has one now.

I had the Kougaku pulley before, but the clearance on the center hole was a bit too big and a shim had to be used to keep it from vibrating. My shim fell at, more than likely all the jumping from laughlin last year...

Design is pretty much the same, oversized pulley, and lighter, utilizes stock belt. And its fancy gold.

Here is a pic of my old piece on and the new STANCE pulley.

Here you can see the gap where the shim filled up.

Clearance is much better, no shim needed.

I believe the Kougaku pulley has been fixed now with no shim needed.

are these only for the SRs or do they work on the KAs as well?

YF (Yashio Factory) also makes and oversized one as well. They are YF Pink too!

you notice any difference with the upgraded pully?

yes it does cool the car on higher RPMs lap after lap
ive used a YASHIO FACTORy one for about 2 years now.

with lightning of any pulley wont this effect the harmonic balancing of the motor? just curious.

The motor is internally balanced, so no pulley will mess with the harmonic balancing of the motor.

i was so close to picking one of these up when i was at TF the other day. maybe next time.

Since there's isn't a harmonic balancer on the engine, no.

reason I asked was, I saw that ATI makes those super damper for the SR20.

yeah but thats just for the crank pulley.and thats when your makin a shitload of power at high rpm's it pulls the harmonic vibration out that is caused...

i might look into one of these

Where'd you get a collar to fill up that gap? I have a Kougaku pulley sitting here.

Your terminology is off, you mean harmonic damper, but no it won't affect it since the damping is done on the crank(in the stock crank pulley or the ATI damper).

The engine is internally balanced, but the vibrations in question are a natural frequency response thing, nothing to do with a balance/imbalance in the rotating assembly.

It looks pretty small, get some shim-in-a-can and get to cutting and stick it in there with some superglue. Ghetto but effective.

Id rather shim it with aluminum tape from home depot. Shim the water pump, not the pully itselft.

Should be a perfect fit

I heard that these pulleys make you drift like Simba.

I also have this pulley. Installed it before a buttonwillow track day and didnt get the usual water temp rise that i would get with the stock pulley while hot lapping. Or maybe its because i took off my hood. Oh well looks better then stock....
