I'm moving to Atlanta here pretty shortly and I'm wondering what the story is on emissions and SR's. Here in Iowa, there's no inspection or testing whatsoever, so I've been gravy. Haven't been able to find any specific information about Atlanta yet, though. I know emissions are required in the 13-county metro, and I'll be in Dekalb, so I'll need to pass emissions.

The searches I've done have provided no specific information, just a few suggestions to register in another county, but no specific information that says an SR won't pass inspection. My SR is bone stock except for intake/downpipe/exhaust, and is in excellent condition, so I think it will pass a sniffer no problem. Just don't know if there is some sort of inspection that could prevent it from passing

Sniffer is all you need to pass. We don't have that weird lights/horn/wipers inspection some States have. I would still drive a bit out though to a place less likely to know what an SR is, but I don't think you'll have a problem as long as it runs clean, IE with a cat.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I should be fine. I'm still running the stock cat even, 3" -> 2.5" -> 3" for ultimate performance.

Have fun with Atlanta traffic lol...i'm up there a lot and it can get old especially between 3-6pm.
