Hello people. This is my first thread here on Zilvia. I just recently finished up my car. It's an S13 coupe with a single turbo 1JZ. I figured I'd make a thread instead of just posting in the pic thread in case anyone had any questions. So...feel free to ask me stuff. Doesn't look like much yet, but I'm not too worried about it. Plus I ran out of money so that's just how it's gonna look until I get money for paint supplies.

Stuff:
Bullseye Power/Borg Warner T04b V-trim turbo
Tial stuff
Griffin radiator
Precision IC
World Electronics Boost controller
SAFC II
Twin plate carbon ATS clutch.....that's right.
Replaced every single suspension bushing ES kit.
SPL solid subframe jammies
Orange tree or whatever rear arms
Tein tie rods, etc...etc....
Ya know....baller stuff.
It made 300hp 250torque at 14psi on a Dyno Dynamics.
Plan to put it back on and tune for about 17psi soon.
All work done by me with lots of help from my brother. My brother sells the same mounts that I used on this car so if ya'll wanna make somethin happen, let me know. My brother's car will be way nicer so keep an eye out for that. Thanks to the guys at MA-Motorsports in Baltimore for their help and letting me take up space in their shop for a while there.

Thanks guys. The exhaust manifold is just one of those cheap ebay ones, lol. Eventually I wanna paint it white and gold two tone. Dunno about a kit yet though, might get some factory aero or a mild kit. Rotors are powerslot 350Z track rotors with Z32 calipers.

Looks sweet, and it looks like you managed to sit the motor back a good amount.
Pics of mounts?
InlineS13
09-05-2008, 09:58 AM
I'll get up some shots of the mounts soon. Custom made brackets by my brother with nismo 240 rubber mounts. I didn't get to dyno it with the twins. Didn't want to have to take them out in the car and remake intercooler piping, exhaust, etc.

Honestly, I think Carbon Silver(350z color) or a nice Gunmetal would look SO bomb on your Coupe.
White, to me, is like a "ooo, look at me, soo pretty."
Carbon Silver or Gunmetal would make it seem aggressive.
Haha.
Edit: Example:

Thanks for the suggestion. I was gonna do the IS300 gunmetal color, but there's too many 240s like that. My brother's car is that kind of color. I really like the white/gold two tone. I think it would look awesome with the TE's.

How do you like the 1JZ? Is it real revvy or does it have some low end grunt to? How did the torque curve look? Im building a coupe to right now with a SR and i don't like having most of the usable power past 4k rpm. Maybe it's my tune. Nice build.

1JZ's definitely have some power down low, but like RB's, the torque doesn't drop off radically as you climb - very linear powerbands.
The SR in stock form has great response and a fantastic torque curve... boring almost. As long as you don't go with radical cams and/or a Greddy IM, you should have a fantastic powerband - but I don't know how "built" your SR is.
Great car, OP :)

Looks good man, how did you run your fuel lines?
InlineS13
11-08-2008, 06:51 PM
I consider it finished when I can drive it to school and work everyday after sitting on jackstands for 2 years in my driveway, lol. I ran some hard brakelines along the firewall for fuel.
It made 300 hp at 6800 rpm and 250 torque at 5500 rpm this was at 14 psi. At 4200 rpm it made 230 ft/lbs. Torque's prolly a bit better with stock twins and you can definitely make a lot more than 300 hp with em too. I could have leaned it out for a bit more torque but this was my first tuning experience and I was scared of leaning it out too much. Sorry if that didn't help too much, lol. SR's are cool though. Ditto what GSXR said, no crazy cams or greddy intake manifold and your car will be fun.

Thanks. I posted a picture on the first page with my exhuast. It was pretty simple, there's tons of room. My brother's gonna do a 3.5" downpipe no prob. I just made a little heatshield for the heater hoses and wiring harness.

That's what I thought. Someone (it might have been here) compared an SR to a B16 with a turbo. Fuck no. Those things might as well be a light switch. Dog, dog, dog, fall asleep, lag, lag, wheel spin, wheel spin.
SR's are cool though.
Did you have an SR before? This thing has to be much funner to drive than an SR and sound heaps better.
Video?

I didn't have an SR before the 1JZ but I've driven plenty of them. JZ motors are awesome, simply put.
