[Dirty Habit]

Thats all Im getting when I try and start my car. Pulled the starter to see whats up. Had it tested, its all good, turned the motor, didnt see any broken teeth. KA24DE FYI.
Always started up just fine before. Just fixed cooling issues..now this.

Ideas. Everytime it cranks twice and then grinds.

Help is appreciated.

Ive seen this happen before.. but each time has a been a different cause..

It could be the starter.. not being able to pop out far enough to grab the flywheel properly..

It could be the flywheel.. maybe 1 or 2 missing teeth out of 200..

it could be your battery.. not properly giving out enough amps to power the starter to puch onto the flywheel properly..

it could be the wiring. not making proper contact causing the starter to not funtion correctly...

any of those could be the culprit.. let me know if that helps.. :)

Thanks massimo. Im gonna go have the battery checked or recharged, see what happens. I marked a tooth with a paint marker and cranked it all the way back around, no teeth missing that I could see.
Wiring is fine, went back through with a multimeter, just checking shit. So it could be the starter not lining up or the battery, hopefully its the battery.

check the grounding of the starter. there's a small little ground cable that goes from the motor to the body of the starter itself. i took mine off and roughed everything up with a dremel and that fixed all my starter issues. after that you could even try bolting a temporary ground straight into one of the starter bolts

otherwise it's gotta be battery or the (+) cable

sometimes hitting it with a hammer actually works in this situation, it can knock the silenoid smart

^^yes, but we've already established it's a good starter (he had it checked)

so it has to be wiring/power supply

make sure the wire that gives the starter the signal has a good connection my car did the same and that little connector was not connected good
