I keep bending inner tie rods, Ive been through 2 oem, 1 kazama, 1 megan and another oem.
Car is s13 slammed on old JIC coils that are leaking alot.
Has a good alignment, 3 degrees camber and 7 degrees caster with bings tension rods in the front

Anybody had any other kind of experience with this?
Is there any kind of tie rod end spacer that will drop the rod to be more level with the steering rack?
Im getting tired of this, our track is rough but it seems Im going through inners alot more than other people.

Should get getting some new stance coils this week, and I will be replacing the inner with another megan that I have, but I dont want this to happen again

Im replacing my innner and outer tie rods real soon(whenever i get off my ass) I also have older JICs and mine are blown in the front. so i dunno, i think my tie rods arent that bad but im replacing them anyway.Im curious to know what my options are for my blown JIC's?

Yeah, Hopefully Ill be getting them this week, but I think im also Im gonna try to strengthen the inner rod by stacking the threaded part with nuts as it seems to be the weak point regarless of brand. Either that or find a sleeve that would fit over the threaded part.

Sounds like you're binding the ball joint on the inner rod by being "pretty low". Might be worth it to get some spherical bearing outers so you can lower the outside mounting point down and prevent the binding.

yeah blown coils wouldnt wear them out quicker.. just make your ride quality go to crap. Could be the ride height you have...im with Def on this one.

i bend them sometimes whent he roooadd is rough an keep slaming the bumps n holes...try looking when you raise and lower if they bend once put on the ground

I have kazama spherical outers and Ive slightly bent that too. With the car on the ground you can see the rods are pointing up to the knuckles, instead of being level with them.
I know with the corolla guys, you can get apators/spacers that lower the outside mounting point of the tie rod, so for slammed cars, it still retains the straight angle of the tie rods instead of pointing up to the knuckle.

And yeah, our local track has concrete paved like the moon, but Im definatley breaking them alot more than other people do, its pretty common here.

are you running the spacers with the z32 inners?

yea also might want to go with a stronger set of inners if you keep bending them. megans are shitty, go with tein or Z32

i have old blown jics too lol. im using peak inners and oem s14 outers and havent bent mine and my car is dumped. try peaks they work for me. just dont use ANY aftermarket outers they WILL break.

I did for over a year when they were on the S13 with no problems.
I'm going to do the same set up on the S14 but with the newer outers and no spacers this time.

tein inners = oem, not worth it imo

your stupid, S13 inner is alot thinner than Tein, plus their made of stronger material and come with spacers.....

Tein basically just replaces S13 inners with S14 ones
woopty doo
what is this stronger material you speak of?
or are you just regurgitating what everyone that sells them copies off Tein's site?
But hey, they're gold, shiny and JDM... matches your gay lights perfectly I guess.

yeah megans arent the greatest quality...but im wondering if you have the steering boots over them?

because if theres nothing covering them dust can get into the joint and not allow it to move as freely as it should and may put unneeded stress on the tie rods

im still on hicas in the rear with the tomei eliminator.
but thanks anyway.

will be testing out my 'strengthened' inners on wednesday and see how it goes. Also pounded out my fenders even more, and I replaced a sway bar bushing washer that broke through as well.

Yeah I compaired some TEIN to Gts-t skyline ones and the skyline ones were bigger lol. Tein aren't thicker at all.

And I have kazama ones haven't bent anything in 2 years on my skyline but you are running in calgary and its the shittiest track everrrrr....seriously there is pot holes on the track...pot holes while sideways is never good for anything.
