I have a '92 Euro 200SX with a bone stock CA18DET. Engine runs like clockwork and hasn't given me any trouble in the year I've owned it, knock on wood, save for a broken alternator belt. The problem is that I happened to stumble on an notchback blacktop SR20DET motorset locally off a Euro '96 S14, and the importer wants $1500 for it. This includes the ECU, MAF, and wiring harness. Trouble is that the main harness connector has been cut off. The Ignitor chip is also missing. I have a few questions

First off is this swap even worth it? Assuming I can part out my CA setup to recoup some of the costs, is it worth the trouble? I was planning on modding my CA anyway, but I'm sure you'll all agree that the SR is a better platform to do so..
- Assuming the engine/tranny come without mounts, can I reuse my CA mounts or would I have to buy new ones?
- Can I use my stock CA Ignitor?
- What about my stock CA driveshaft, is it the correct length? If its not, this is a dealbreaker...
- What exactly is involved in rewiring the harness to make this work?

Once again, would you go through with this? It might not be justifiable if one were to be rational, but its certainly very tempting! :)
Those extra 0.2L + the VTC should make quite a difference when drifting, no?

I would do it. CA doesn't have as extensive of an aftermarket... but I'm sure more knowledgeable people will chime in.

yeah do the sr you could always go painless wiring and get the harness, pretty cheap to. As for the drive shaft i dont see ne reason why it would not work and the motor mounts and trans mounts i would replace them your going from non turbo to turbo and also the hp. it will be alot more horse power and tq. compaired to the ca hope this help man

srry my bad i didnt see the T at the end but never mind that the sr makes more power so your gonna need bigger shit to hold the motor in

The only advantage of an SR over a CA is finding parts for it. We all know the CA is a better engine (better build/design) than the SR. The catch is they didnt produce enough of them, aftermarket support is barely available. But then again, you're in Europe, parts for a silvia out there is a pain in the ass to begin with.

You could always buy it and re-sell it to someone in America for 2100
