hey everyone...

i have an altima fan setup in my s13 at the moment....worked for a good while but i noticed the current make the wires very hot (im using 14gauge right now)...so it burned up the connections ive made...im running from the battery to a switch on my dash...most u guys probly know some electronics so u should know how i did that haha...anyways i didnt choose to put them on my ac fan controller because i have no need....my car runns cool enough to not use these fans at all...even while im driving hard...i just use them when its really hot outside as extra help

my question is do u guys know of a way i can wire these up to my switches and keep them from heating up so damn much?

also i might add that these fans have 2 speeds depending on how u wire them up they will do a higher or lower speed...currently i have them on the lower speed

Use 10 gauge wire for power and ground. That should be safe for 30A.

cant stress enough the use of a relay when wiring in your fans. i had the same shit happen to me cuz i didnt know any better. my switch melted in the on position and i had to cut the wire to make them turn off. here is a diagram i made up a while ago which might be of some help. my fans have been running great ever since i did this; havent had a single problem yet.
