A few five-lug questions (Attain swap)

Swapping to 5-lug soon with Attain fronts and Z32 rears. Couple things I haven't been able to find:

1. My front rotors are already drilled for 5-lug but I need new rears. I'm going to try to get them drilled, but if I can't I'll need new. I've read that S14 rear will fit the S13 (stock calipers) - do I need to order S14 with ABS or without, or doesn't it matter? And is there a particular year of the S14 I should try to order?

2. Long studs - I believe the Z32 rears will take the same size studs as the S13, but what about the Attain fronts? I read an old post on Freshalloy that said you could use S14-sized studs, but can anyone confirm that?

All rear rotors are the same size, 89-98, ABS and non ABS.

yes, u will have to use s14 sized knurl for the front hubs.

I actually have a Wilwood big brake setup on the front, that's why it's dual-drilled already, but thanks for the offer.

Does ARP make front studs that size? I really like their offering for the S13 size and I'm just going to pull them from my 4-lug hubs for the Z32 rears, but I'll need something else for the Attain fronts.

SPL says S13 takes 13mm, S14 14.3 (just found this).

I'm wondering if these might fit for the S14/Attain:

They're .558 inch knurl, which works out to about 14.2mm. The knurl length is different, not sure how much that would matter. Any opinions?

Anyone know which 14.3mm ARP studs SPL sells? They offer them on their site, but they're way more expensive than the 13mm setup. I'm going to call them Tuesday to see what they can tell me...

i remember reading something about this along time ago in sport compact car with there project silvia and they had a hard time figuring out what size they needed for the studs but that was along time ago and im sure theres lots out there now.

SCC used OEM S14 parts on their car - hubs, spindles, balljoints, etc. Then they installed Nismo studs - I'm sure they just ordered Nismo studs for the front S14 hubs without needing to know what size they were.

I don't want to use Nismo, they're too expensive and ARP are much stronger anyway.

well i thought i remembered them talking about the knurls and shit and not being able to find the proper part through ARP and that that was the only reason they got the Nismo ones. but i could be wrong

I would suggest the peak performance studs. Stronger than nismo, still stock thread pitch.

Why Peak over ARP? I already have some ARP studs on my 4-lug hubs; I can use some of them on my new rears. I'd only need to get 4 more lugnuts.

I'll keep the Peak in mind, just curious why the recommendation - is there a listing anywhere of their tensile strength?

Peak uses 1.25 pitch lugs just like stock. ARP are 1.5. You would need new lugnuts. My only reason for the suggestion.

In all likelihood I'd need new lugs anyway - open-ended ones - for the longer studs.

As stated, I already have some ARP studs I can re-use, and lugnuts for them.

Still curious about the strength of the Peak studs...

are the s14's front abs or non abs FRONT rotors all interchageable with the s13 brake calipers?
