When I purchased my rims and tires I did not know much about them. But after reading on this and other forums I have a better understanding about them now. Here is my situation I have a 92 fastback with omni N7's 17x 7 +40 offset(I know I know now!!) with 205/40/17. I am trying to decide between two options selling the rims and tires and putting my stock ones back on or just buying bigger tires and living with them ,they do not look that bad. My main concern is will the 300zx brakes(26mm) clear the stock 7 spoke wheel? But if I leave the rims on and upgrade to a bigger tire how big of tire could i go up to without rubbing my suspension(KYB AGX with sportlines)?
Thanks!!

I, personally, would sell them. But if you do keep them, I don't think you can go larger than 225 tires.

If you decide to keep those wheels, a 215/45-17 tire will fit fine on the 7" rim and clear any spring/shock combo (but possibly not coilovers)with ease. You could go 225/45-17, but that's pushing it.

The stock wheels may fit the 26mm Z calipers. Check the back of the spokes; there are two different designs of the stock 7 spokes, one has extra stiffening ribs that will hit the caliper.
