I bought a no name steering wheel 320mm off of Ebay. There are 6 small bolts that hold it to the aluminum hub. Are these steering wheels supposed to flex? The wheel just doesn't seem very strong.

So how much minimum do you need to spend to get something stronger?

Even a Grant steering wheel from a local parts store would be better than an off-brand wheel from ebay in most cases. It just sucks because they don't use a standard mounting pattern.

The steering wheel I have is a 6 bolt pattern. Seems to be common.

Most of those shitty steering wheels do use the same bolt pattern as nice wheels. What I'm saying is, a Grant steering wheel is probably around the same price as what you got, and probably better quality. But still, that isn't saying much.
You can get a used momo wheel for dirt cheap on ebay. Heck, once in awhile you'll see someone toss up a used nardi in the forsale section for about $100.

What do you think? Are steering wheels in general supposed to flex? No. Is your steering wheel predestined to flex by virtue of being a cheap ebay wheel? More likely yes.
General comments for everyone:
1. Momo bolt pattern has 6 bolts spaced equidistant from each other, starting at 12 o'clock, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10.
2. Nardi has 6 bolts as well, but the circle is slightly larger and the bolts are located at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 o'clock.
3. You can get an adaptor to go from one to the other.
4. Some hubs are drilled for both patterns, like Circuit Sports.
5. I have a Nardi hub to Momo wheel adaptor. You can buy from me or PM me and I'll tell you where you can get them from, or search.

Grant steering wheels are 5 bolt... you'll need the Grant adaptor for that.

Or you can use all Grant shit, but whatever.
Not bolt on.

If I was you, I'd rock a stock wheel, worn or not, and save up for something half decent.

Best advice. Or save money for something else.
With poorly maintained S13s, there are far worse things need fixing than the steering wheel.
