If your rpm's are climbing, but the car is not accelerating then your clutch is probably slipping.

never thought of that.. it seems like it could be that as well i can hit boost but its not acceleating like it used to very sluggish

If your barely accelerating but your rpm's continue to climb your clutch is probably slipping. Check to make sure your clutch slave cylinder located on the tranny isn't bad and bleed the clutch line. If that doesn't help 90% chance your clutch is starting to go.

A bad master or slave cylinder will not cause the clutch to slip, that is simply not possible. A bad master or slave will cause the clutch to not dis-engage and grind gears or not go into gear.

Exactly.

I'm with AJ though, its more likely a boost leak. You'd have noticed your clutch going out.

The only thing that makes a clutch "go bad" is a completely worn friction disk (you'd notice going into and out of gear, at stops, etc it would slip), or a worn pressure plate (the springs tend to lose their ability to clamp after a looooooooooong time) and that's what this could be.

To find a boost leak you should let the car idle and spray some carb cleaner around every joint in the intercooler piping and around the intake mani and vacuum hoses. At idle there is no boost, actually vacuum, and if there is a leak it will suck the carb cleaner in and make the idle stumble.

Hope some non-chlorinated carb cleaner. Stuff likes to eat rubber.

Still won't show a pinhole that opens up under boost.

My friend had one of these and it worked awesome. Set the air compressor to 10psi and hook it up. you can hear/feel the leaks. soap spray for the hard ones. IACV leak is a bitch.

I think you need to be a little more descriptive with your problem........you say the motor lags when you give it gas, do you mean at full gas it feels like you are going at lets say 20% gas?

then you say the rpms go up.........like how they normally should go up if you were in neutral?

if the car was stumbling or something then I guess that might be misfiring or a coupler having a leak or what not.....

if you have a boost gauge you should be able to see if you are not making boost as well, and if you don't have one, I think its a good time to invest in one

The only shops I know are fever racing and S & R performance but they are in the Tampabay area.
