I was searching some random thing on google images, found a picture of a GT-R with a big "x" on it, and found this.

http://jalopnik.com/assets/resources/2008/02/NissanR35manual.jpg

Novelties: Don't Mess With The Nissan GT-R (http://jalopnik.com/362623/dont-mess-with-the-nissan-gt+r)

Thought it was kinda funny that this picture is in the actual manual, along with the other illustrations.

I've never seen a car company go out and DIRECTLY do something like this. Granted most companies don't like it when you screw with their designs (there are exceptions, like scion who actually use it as their way of promotion and appreciate it.) But I've never seen something like this in a piece of literature FROM the dealership.

well I think its only in the JDM manual (you lucky few with GT-R's check for this ;))

I was wondering how Nissan reacted to Mines grabbing one when they were first released and screwing with it. Happy to see people are enjoying it...or a little irked that their designs are already being tampered with?

lmfao.

Warning: Do not rice your car out. Doing so will void Vehicles warranty.

Warning: Your Nissan GT-R Does not like Coke. It is a Pepsi drinker. Any Coke cans found in your GT-R will be crushed by your GT-R.

Warning: Do not attempt to detroy your GT-R using a train. Your GT-R will display "N" in your Instrument panel. That signifies it is about to transform into a Giant Fighting Robot and crush you.

Warning: It is not advised you try to show your new GT-R to an oncoming train. Doing so will void your vehicle's warranty.

THANKS FOR BUYING NISSAN!

Are you thinking of the game, "Auto Modellista"?

Neat concept with cell shading, but overall just a bad game.

I've never seen something like this in a piece of literature FROM the dealership.

There is always something in the owner's manual telling you not to modify their cars. Some even have pix. It's not unusual.

That one actually translates to:

"Non-authorized modification
Illegal modification"

Something like that.

And no, I didn't translate it via Japanese. Those are all Chinese characters, and I just translated it via Chinese. Don't know if the Japanese can have that much of a difference of meaning, seeing as they pretty much just used a lot of the same characters and meanings as the Chinese when they invented Japanese.

i don't quite understand that. Does Nissan really think people won't modify the GTR because of that illustration? The GTR has one of the richest histories of aftermarket tuning, I think it's a sacrilege for Nissan to condemn aftermarket modifications. It's been said that many facets of the 32-34 were purposely designed by Nissan to make it easy to modify. I guess they want to take a step away from that now that the "gentleman's agreement" of 276HP limit is history and because they have tried to push the GTR to supercar status.

I think if you buy a GTR in Japan, they make you sign a contract that says you cannot modify it, or else it voids your warranty and all that other junk.

That's what I've heard, haven't really seen/heard people confirm that though.

I translated Via Japanese, (post 11)
Roughly
The top set of characters says "Caution"
The bottom set says "Illegal Modify"

So yeah they'er pretty close
