Will a .60 a/r comp. and .63 a/r turbine work well for a KA-T ?

bump up the turbine housing one size. i think you'd have a great set up then. without knowning all the specs of the turbo and what your goals its hard to say. on 2 liter cars i've used .63 in the past with good results. might be to much of a choke on a 2.4. just my 2 cents

T04E TURBOCHARGER, 3" INLET DIAMETER, 2" OUTLET, WET FLOATING BALL BEARINGS, 1/8 NPT OIL INLET, 3/8 NPT COOLANT,
T3 / T4 FOOTPRINT OK.

SPECS:

.57 COMPRESSOR WHEEL TRIM

.60 A/R COMPRESSOR

.63 A/R TURBINE

Or what about ...S trim compressor wheel - O trim turbine wheel - A/R .84 turbine housing

In order to run the numbers...which you can too...we need to know the PSI you intend to run, and how much power/airflow you'd like to hit. If you want a smooth powerband with torque everywhere, you'd probably be well-off with this turbo. If you want LOTS of power, you probably need a bigger A/R. That's just a guess though.

So, PSI and HP please.

unless u intend to run 380hp or more, .63a/r is perfect for a KA-T w/stock cams.

Target goal... is about 300rwhp, What I'm looking to do is, build up a KA to hold boost... I'm looking to boost about 15-20psi at max and around 5-10psi for daily driving. I don't drive my car hard, but I just like to have the power on tap when needed. With 300hp to the wheels it's comparable to the LS1's which is my primary objective. I'm considering a mild p&p to the head and use the 91 KA cams, motor wise I don't have an issue, I just not too turbo techie! Thanks for the input guys.

50trim t3/t04e stage 3 wheel and either a .63 or .82a/r will do fine
for 16-18psi

The 57 trim wheel isn't very good. 1st choice is the 50 trim, 2nd choice 60 trim, but I'd only team up the 60 trim wheel with a .82A/R turbine housing.

The 57 trim's compressor map is basically covered by the 50 trim wheel. What I mean is, the 50 trim does pretty much everything the 57 trim does, and does most of it better.

Honestly, I'd rather have a torque line and a nice even powerband, something that I would enjoy auto-xing with.

Why do you want the 91 cams.......isnt that cam profile meant for NA applications?

Higher lift cams.... keeps the intake and exhaust valves open longer, they work well with NA but seem to work better in FI applications.

I thought the idea for turbo cams was longer duration so theres more overlap?

you want less overlap with a turbo engine

at high back pressure against the turbine, it can be forced back into the motor. making you engine break up at high rpm.

you loose low end but the mid range kicks a$$. and with the turbo on high end, the thing will pull alot smoother.

i have the JWT cams with the JWT cam gears with a 2.5 deg. advance and retard to get of the overlap.

it was a huge difference in the motor after that. well worth the money if you are goin turbo.

So ....the 91 cams would be good for a turbo setup or not? Also...I heard JWT had some prototype turbo cams or something....that are different than the normal ones they sell right now.....any truth to this?

I have a pair of 91 exhaust cams in my motor...with a little trick done to decrease the overlap about 1.5 degrees, IIRC. It worked.

Little trick? So you had them re ground?...or you moved the pin?
