My climate control won't light up anymore. What should I check to remedy the problem. Bad fuse? Burned out bulb? Any sugestions would be great

TIA

When you say climate control, you mean the cold to heat colored bar right? And when you say burnt out, do you mean the green light that is on the vertical slider thing? Or do you mean the backlighting?

My backlighting has never worked, and I always get comments on how it should be lit up, but I prefer my stealth-mobile. :D

My question is, does that backlighting actually light up? Like even when switching between air blowing on my feet to my upper body, I only see those little green lights.

I have had my 240 for quite a while and it did at one time light up and everynow and again it will come on very dim but will go out in 5-10 mins.

I mainly just wanted to know if there was an easy fix to it. If not then I just say f- it:p

welcome to the Club of non-working climate control lights. I had that prob ever since I bought my car, it comes and goes could it be the bulbs or something?

Mine used to flicker as well,.. there's a little write up on 240sx.org on how to reach the bulb of the unit, I had to tighten the bulb screw and it works ever since...

In an s13, you need to take the climate control unit out (basically the same as removing the stereo). It won't come all the way out because of the fan and temperature sliders, but it will come out enough. On top you'll find a couple of round covers, under there you will find the bulbs. Fiddle with those a bit, perhaps replace the bulbs. Mine just needed to be wiggled a bit and it came back on OK. It's been a while since I've been back there, but I seem to recall there being two bulbs.

Good luck.

i had that problem in my S14, it ended up being 3 little bulbs that i replaced with radio shack ones, it didnt fit perfectly and the blue plastic covering wouldnt stay on the replacenments.

I have the same problem... I was told it just needs bulbs when I had the car checked out a while back. I've just been to lazy to fix it.
