I got a quote on a VQ35de from a crashed 350z with under 12K for eng wiring (http://zilvia.net/f/engine-tech/209125-vq35de-pricing.html#) harness (slapstick) and ecu for 800$ is this a good buy?? I looked around and have seen other setups go for more but they are the 6 speed ones and that is what Im going for. I just want to sell the harness and ecu to have money towards the 6 speed swap components.
Any input would be helpful.
Thanks in andvance

if you dont need it, why worry about it? That 800 bucks could go towards something you could actually use. I mean, in all honesty, the 350z's are still pretty new, there isnt much demand for wiring harnesses or ECU's yet. Especially in autos. I suppose you could slap it on Ebay... But i dont think you'd get too much out of it, because people on ebay bid low. Of course you never know. Some unlucky SOB with a fried ECU in his auto could be looking for one on Ebay.
I think you should save your 800 bucks, and wait til something useful comes along.

Well they arent so new any more. you might be right about the demand for the auto swap components but auctually parts are more expensive for the newer cars so I was thinking I could get more. I do need an eng and it only has 12k. and would probably spend just as much on an sr swap after all is final. but have a real new eng...I dont know,,, any other responses???

^^^^ i like the way your thinking. A brand new engine like you say with 12k what more can you want??! Who knows what kind of problems you can encounter with an SR motor thats been sitting for years

800 bucks for a VQ with 12k miles on it sounds like a bargain to me.

sounds like he's only talking about the wiring harness and ecu. at least thats how i understand the first sentence.
800 is pretty steep.. 300 at most for a new harness. another 300 for the ecu.

The vq engine, complete engine harness, ecu, and bcm? If the engine is included $800 is a steal, if its everything minus the engine $800 is a little high IMO can probably find one for $500-600
If it is a fully dressed RWD 350Z VQ35 then it is a steal. I want.

oh and unless your doing full standalone/painless wiring, your gonna need the harness and ecu, and dash harness. but 800 for engine isnt bad. i shoulda jumped on a deal i had, 1500 for a engine and 6spd trans with 18k out of a 04.

its not for the engine, its just the wiring harness.
the wiring harness, ecu for 800. No engine, no tranny, nothing.
I can read what he put down because I also have a backwards mind like the OP.

Duuuude, are you kidding me..!!!yesss its a great deal!
I think they usually go for like $3000 for the whole setup!
I remember calling up a company from here on zilvia who does swaps and they were charging like $4500 to swap in a VQ in my S14

1. Rent a 350Z
2. Purchase insurance
3. Pull motor, tranny, wire harness, ECU and whatever else you want.
4. In the wee hours of the morning, ditch car in open field
5. Call police, report car stolen
Done.

$800 for the engine alone is a great deal you sure it doesnt have a hole in the block? lol
See if they have the dash harness and bcm you're gonna need that to make a swap much easier

priced a full G37 swap at $4000 a while back, car had less than 30,000 miles on it, but had pulled a face plant into a flat surface, maybe a wall? I'm rather picky about where I get my engines from though. But then again I'm not looking to do a swap anytime soon.
