So i was driving to water polo practice and i see some guy just randomly swerve through the center emergency/turn lane into oncoming traffic in front of me and hit a clean ass mustang cobra at about 55mph. He trashed the mustang, losing his wheel but still sliding into me to then continue on and hit another car. So all in all there were 4 cars involved. All of them were totaled. As of right now, i dont know what is going on insurance wise but i may be parting out my car soon and looking for a s14 kouki with a swap....sr or rb...it just sucked that i had to be in the wrong place at the wrong time,

this should prolly be in off topic... but that sucks. I seriously doubt insurance will cover that. Thats alot of damage to the frame, a new door alone is a grand from nissan...

Your looking at 6 or 7 grand worth of damage, with the frame straitened, and a new door and paint... your car's worth maybe 5. Take the check they cut you, buy back your car, part it out, find an s13. Thats the best advice I can give you.

Yeah I saw the car in person, it's pretty messed up. We are going to take a look under the car tomorrow to see how messed up that is down there.

Other than that, Buy yourself an S13 like Johns or get an S14 and well start over

With my insurance company they give you what its worth in "used" condition. My s13 was worth 1100 according to State Farm. I got the hartford now, Im much happier with them... But yeah, if you got 4 grand out of your car I wouldnt be suprised. buy it back for... maybe 1500, then part it out. looks like you got 3 good fn01rc's, a good door, some interior, and a KA24DE. Those are like gold these days.

everything happens for a reason....maybe it was the right place at the right time.

insurance is going to pay you, youll get a new car, and you can still make profit off your car by parting it out.

think positive.

youre alive arent ya?

who survives a front end collision in the lane youre supposed to drive in?

just get it aligned... it'll be good as new :hahano:

Seriously though, I hate to see this stuff... only so many of these cars around and it seems like it's always the clean ones that get destroyed :(

I'm so paranoid about the insurance on my car, at least my company lets me specify the value of my modifications so if it gets totaled they give me what it's ACTUALLY worth as opposed to some stupid book value thats way below what it would cost to buy another one.

I wish you the best of luck... if they try to low-ball you on the reimbursement challenge them to find another one, same year, color, and condition, for sale in your area at that price... and don't let up until they give you what it's worth.

JJ240
08-19-2008, 09:54 AM
Yeah you should be able to come out allright...you aren't dealing with your insurance company, but his. You can push alot harder when the accident is someone elses fault. Make sure you get what you deserve out of his company or threaten to get a lawyer. Follow through if the threat doesn't pan out.

sting2343
08-19-2008, 01:09 PM

insuranceses are wack they are a hassle. Do exactly as people have been saying. Have the insurance company pay you off what ever your car is worth and buy it back.... part it out and get yourself another one. Time for a new begining, it sucks but hey you get to build a better one. Cars come and go aslong as you ok bro.

bbejj123
08-19-2008, 07:31 PM
what i would do is make a list of all the parts u have installed aftermarket and oem and get the prices for all the parts and then get a couple of prices of cars like yours off the internet or whatever and get all this on paper add up the total and then once the insurance guy comes to check it out if he hasnt already give him the information.

This should help you either get a bigger check or maybe get ur car fixed...

sucks to hear about that and good luck!

yah does anyone know what the buy back is on a car like mine
My insurance company told me I COULDN'T buy my car back. I kept harassing them. Phoned the towing company and found out what action it was going to. I bought back my S14 SE for $300. All I had to do is match the highest bid of the auction and it was mine again. I sold the coilovers the next day for like $1k. LOL. Well worth it.

Oh, and if the insurance company lowballs you, be persistent. Show them what other S14's sell for. Make sure you get enough cash. I showed my insurance company a bunch of S14's for sale and they eventually gave me more than their initial quote.

jebus f'ing chrissy

Any more down the chassis and you might of been a goner. Sorry for your car man, but you'll rebuild. I know that I'd be probably in tears and practically homocidal.

Shame to see another 240 go like that, unless if somebody has the equipment/money to make it prime again.

At least you are all right though, no major injuries? Just shaken up?

But if you part out still. Can I get dibs on the trunk and bumper front signals? :D

ESmorz
08-19-2008, 11:51 PM
Ok so I more than glanced at the pics this time and that chassis can't be salvaged.

Sucks. Milk the injury! Make that money.

So I guess this means you won't be cruisin de luz any time soon? haha

On another note, I'm barely ever in Vista and I've seen two gnar gnar binks accidents on E Vista Way.

This is What I pulled off the NCT News Website. Wish they had a little more info about it lol...

VISTA ---- Ten people were treated for injuries after a four-car crash on Vista surface streets Saturday, authorities said.

The pile-up was reported at 890 E. Vista Way at 11:42 a.m., a fire dispatcher said. Medics treated 10 people for injuries, and four ambulances carried an unknown number of patients to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido and Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, the dispatcher said.

The southbound lanes of East Vista Way were closed at Vale Terrace for several hours for an investigation, a Sheriff's Department official said.

Further information was not available Saturday.

If the accident isn't your fault...

WTF, that's bullshit.

If its HER fault, she is BY LAW required to pay you the value determined by YOUR insurance.

Contact your lawyer, or your insurance company, although it may be too late.
