i have an aftermarket carpet that fits badly and i just want to tear the damn thing out and run bare metal.

is this a bad idea? im considering that rocks would get kicked in and scratch up the metal, or water getting tracked in when it rains.

how does mounting floormats to the metal sound?

if you look in the pic threads, like half of the cars on here don't have carpets.

i didn't have a carpet for like 2 years when i first got into 240's and shit. got sick of it.

the paint really doesn't get scratched, and that water thing is unnoticable.

just floormats on a gutted car helps quiet the noise your shoes make.

try out some rhino liner or that rubber liner! . .i think my foot would get stuck on the friction though:/ gl

Floormats on stripped interior is a fine plan. It's not like your feet go anywhere else, the carpet is just for looks/sound deadening.

maybe u can just dynamt at certain areas and put some small carpet to rest ur feet on and your noise level wouldnt go up as much.

this is a really great way to completely waste money

if you're gonna be spending money on this, just buy a new carpet. there's a bunch of
places that make them. plus ppl sell theirs on part-outs and shit too.

I say rhino liner would be the way to go! If my carpet ever gets too bad that/s be what I do.

has anyone done this and can anyone else confirm that water and rocks dont do any damage or cause annoyance?

as for noise, i figure the carpet is so thin and loose fitting it doesnt do anything anyway
