Here is what i am looking for, i have most of the parts needed for a rhd conversion, but i am wondering a few things, like what can i re-use from my lhd firewall, do i need a new brake booster, master cylinder, and clutch master? Where can i get new brake, and clutch lines, or can i only get used ones, also do i need diffrent p.s. Lines or are the dual cam ones fine? I searched but just cant seem to find a comprehensive parts list.
Thanx in advance

I just want to know what made you decide to do a rhd conversion? just asking cuz I have a japanese car and it isn't sweet. Left hand turns suck and ghey people ask you how you got a british car every day. Not to mention wasting money on shit that doesn't up your cars performance in any way.
If you really wanna follow through with it I am sure i could find some shit in canada for you.

idk why, just always wanted to do it, got a very good deal on some parts, and just changing things up a little bit, it isnt my daily so there arent to many problems with that.
basicly what i am looking for is a list of parts *NEEDED* for the swap, i have no ac, heat, cc, and have a custom chassis harness, it is a very bare bones car.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

A friend once told me, "I want to do a RHD conversion."
I said, "Why? So the guy next to you at the track can shake hands with you because he spent his money on his RB26/2JZ conversion?"
Meaning.....why spend it on something JDM useless......Unless you deliver mail, don't do it.

i see where you are coming from, and i agree in some ways, but you know we all add personal touches to our cars, insted of buying a body kit, or some crazy wheels, rhd is fo me, i already saved up bought my sr, biger brakes, coilovers, suspension arms, and manny other goodies, this is just one thing on my list i would love to do.
once again i am looking for a list of *NEEDED* parts for the swap as in brake lines, clutch line yada yada
thanx

one of the little things that a lot of people forget is that LHD wiper blades go the wrong way. Just a little thing to point out that you might want to do, I know if I was doing a RHD swap for whatever reason I'd make sure to change the mounting points and get the JDM wiper arms.
Power steering rack is different, so the lines will probably be different as well. I haven't closely looked at any of my buddy's cars. He has a RHD silvia, a RHD 180, and a RHD silvia front clip still. If I think of it next time I'll look

I don't see a problem with you using a lhd brake master and clutch master...maybe the lines go in on the other end. I'll get confirmation later today when I talk to one of my buddies..

Oh, that reminds me that a RHD clutch master is different, to clear the fire wall. And the master cyl. lines do exit on the other side, so you might want to pick one up.

thanx for all the help guys, yea i will be looking for a clutch and brake master then.
oh and to the people that neg repd me because of this thread, i did search, never found a very comprehensive list of parts needed, and if wanting rhd= fanboy lame than so be it! we should all be able to do things to our cars that we like, and not have people wine about it. what i would like is someone who has done the conversion to chime in and tell me what parts they *NEEDED*

I also have a JDM car. Overall it's pretty gay besides your turbo not hanging out right in front of your BMC. That's about it...

yea, thanx for the heads up guys, over all i would just like to take the leap, find out for myself, the few rhd cars i have driven felt amazing, idk why, just more comfy, so i figure why not try it, i wont have to much cash into it, just time, but that dosnt bother me
last but not least
im guessing i most likely need new brake lines? anywhere to purchase brand new? RHD japan etc?
do i need diffrent:
clutch line?
p.s. lines?

you just wanna get asked if your car is a skyline 20 times a day don't you... i drive 2 rhd cars and if i could trade for the exact same cars in lhd i would... left had turns are hard... every single person that notices stares at you... you get asked if you car is from Britain or if it is a skyline.... cops around here hate them..... just a few of the cons of rhd....
i vote waste of time and money.....

i had 3 rhd cars here and been driving them around for awhile.
beside being pull over by cops and people asking you stupid questions all day long.
you also will have a hard time right turn exiting plazas, the blind spot is so bad you might want to get a passenger to look for you.
beside that my best advice if you serious about doing th,is is to buy a complete rhd car so you don't have to have the hassle of looking for missing parts and just swap parts over to each car and sell the rhd as lhd race only car.
beside EVERYTHING you need from a front clip, you'll also need door panels, what's inside the door, center console.
good luck,
sam

oh mannnnn, I want to do a RHD conversion so bad.
JUST so I can do sweet high fives with other drivers at the track.
I did that in my s14 with my friend in a r33. it was TOO cool!

i finished my conversion not too long ago, best bet is to buy a complete front clip. ac/heater boxes, brakes lines... the list goes on.
if you have manual windows then you dont need the door panels :)
also, the side mirrors are different too.

how is people who have driven rhd cars telling you that it sucks not constructive... "Be Different" it doesn't affect anyone but you, but people with experience are telling you to use your money in a more constructive way... ... at least if you want to change your turbo your steering rack wont be in the way.... i guess...

i said thank you for that advice, i can see where it would be a problem, but its not my daily, i have my jeep for that, this would just be another fun project to do on the car over the winter, the motor will already be out, and the previous owner put a flywheel through the firewall and did a shitty patch job, so i just figure why not? i can deal with the p.i.t.a. every once and awhile. once again i am not trying to be an ass, i understand all of your guys points, and thank you, all im looking for right now is a list of all the parts *NEEDED* for it as in lines and what not.

I've got a bunch of rhd interior pieces. Also, I just bought an auzone clutch master cylinder and put its insides in my old rhd one for my car, worked fine. The problem is depending on where you got it, US clutch master cylinders won't clear the intake manifold.

I haven't done a rhd convesion yet, but to all the naysayers, i, for one find a rhd easier to see out of, and easier to drive. However, i am left handed, and most of my righthanded friends can't drive my rhd.

It is easier...in a country using RHD cars. I agree it does feel more natural, but RHD in a LHD country kinda sucks.
Things that are a PITA in a RHD car here:
Left turns at intersections with cars in the opposite left turn lane
Two lane pass
Fucking parking lots.
Things that are awesome
The looks you get while rolling down the highway like this:

I don't have a problem with mine. But like all my other fellow Canadians said, you get a lot of dumb looks and questions.... mostly skyline related. The driving part is easy as is the parallel parking. If you can do it for cheap and you really want it than go for it, but if you find that it gets to pricey with all the hidden costs than maybe pull the plug... good luck with the build.

i had a RHD conversion professionally done for a few reasons.
1) the interior was vandalized, cut up dash etc.
2) i got the car for 2500
3) it was automatic
4) the cost to convert to manual, swap in an SR, buy a good used dash, was all the same price i payed for the conversion.
5) i have really bad scars on my left arm from a work injury, so i prefer to have that arm down at the shifter.
6) the clip i got was super clean
with that being said, im happy with everything aside from the down time, but thats a given. the questions people ask are funny to me. hell even when i had a LHD s14 before i got people asking if it was a skyline due to the way i had it looking at the time. people are dumb, and its up to you how you choose to look upon their remarks.

i say pickup a whole front clip and sell the motor+tranny etc after wards. you dont see too many "rhd necessary components" auctions sans engine, if u know what i'm trying to say

i just converted mine and it was a ton of work. the best way to do it is to get an empty clip due to the fact that everything you need is in its proper place.(for reference) be perpared to have a ton of work a head of you. it took me a solid week of 6 hour days getting everything cut out, trimmed up, and welded in(oh ya if you cant weld, dont have your own welder, or know how to use one, be prepared to spent a ton of money) i still havent gotten to my wiring yet cause i have to work on other peoples cars now, being unemployed sucks(thank collar bone). AND DO IT THE RIGHT WAY, move your wipers to the correct side.

On my rhd conversion the only thing that was replaced was the rack & pinion and the dashboard. the pedals were modified to clear the steering column. The same firewall was used new holes were drilled and the old holes were coverd with aluminum sheets welded on to the firewall and worked on with body filler, sanded down and painted to give it a clean look.
