View Full Version : Boost Issue.. would appreciate some assitance..

Hey guys, I have a small maybe big issue, Mods are the follwing BTW i just got the car 2 days ago.

Mods are....
Rb20det w/ top mount t3/t04e borg warner turbo 14psi external wastegate
Nismo fuel pressure regulator and summit liquid gauge.
Front mount intercooler
3" downpipe, cat and exhaust.

Now I am guessing my car has stock injectors, my car is pushing 12 pounds, and when I got WOT my car shut off... could it be because of the injectors are being maxed out and the car is hitting fuel cut or somthing? How much boost should I be running safely?

BTW I was given some Turbo supra injectors, will these work w/ a RB20.

If you're running a T3/T4 on a stock MAF, then yeah you could be maxing that out, which can cause the computer to "shut down" for a split second. I don't believe the computer will shut down under WOT just because you start running lean (if you were maxing the injectors instead of the MAF), but I'm not as experienced with that.

I mean When I go wot my engine just dies because it boosting up to 12 pounds.. guy said it was only running 7.. Liar..

I dont believe so... could that be why its freaking out? Thats the only thing I can think of.

Definitely. It would be boosting at a totally different rate than the ecu is tuned for with that turbo. You need a tune. Also make sure your not overheating. That would shut the engine off.

Oh no its not over heating, my engine is around 220 F heat here in AZ. RB runs hot I am guessing cuz of the turbo. Also does anyone know if Supra Injectors are swapable?

Those look like top feed injectors. RB is side feed.

Alright New Update guys, I just installed a new 255 Walbro fuel pump, The car does not shut off anymore at WOT, When the car hits 10 pounds the car sounds like the car is cuttin boost. The car WILL NOT boost passed 10 pounds period. I think I am exceeding the capacity of the stock injectors. Thats the only thing I can think of.


Also I just installed new NGK Plugs Gapped at .030, and Changed the oil .


Also I just checked, RB20's are topfeed.
