So I got a buddy thats falling out of the car hobby and wants to sell me his 95 240. Its an SE Auto with the usual hood paint fade and the top is faded a bit as well. I believe it is pushing close to 150,000 miles. Recently had new tires but besides that its all stock. Wants to sell it for $3,000. I thought it might be a little steep. Whats your opinion? Thanks in Advance:bigok:

Any Pics? IMO That many miles and faded paint. I'd Say yes A little overpriced. Then again KKB has it going for 3k in Fair.

Not worth it to me.

that's kinda hard josh, it is a little much but then again u don't see one for sale everyday.

what's funny is that kid in dickinson that wants to sell his with an almost blown motor that's a smoke screen for 4500

i'll trade you my s14 for ur s13 with all ur parts :D

Not worth it to me.

Just hold out.

Not to mention you will have to deal with 5 spd swap.

i waited over a year of looking until i found my s14. no one really has 240's up here in nd, cuz nd sucks. and the people that do never sell em or want wayyyyy too much.

Offer his ass 1500, give him a pity story about having to do the 5 spd swap, and all the junk that's wrong with the car.. hahahaha

not with an automatic, that doesn't make it worth it imho

Buy it... it's a 95 so you'll still be obd1 and probably never have a problem passing emissions. Buy S14 clip when/if you do a swap and call it a night.

it depends where you are getting the car and the condition.. although lots of 240sx people are cheap you want to keep in mind that these cars are rare and automatic is actually better not a big deal to swap it.. first time i did took a while but second was half a day... def worth it.. make sure you check the rust and accident.. if the car was clean and no accidents and rust and runs good, go for it.. im sure hell give it to you for 2500$ easy...

Bingo.

You would pretty much have to give me the car before I could justify a manual swap.

depends where you live.

might be worth it to you if you CANT find another one in your area even remotely close to that price.

I'd buy it if it was down here in San Diego. If the paint is the only problem..

I think its totally worth it!
if is is running well, I would say even 4k for it would be a goood price.

Its a fair price if the only prob is paint fading. Check the car for any other issues like accidents, rust etc. Its called a project car for a reason, 5sp is just another project you can add to your list. Most autos are usually less abused anyhow. If he's ur buddy, lowball and ask for the homeboy hookup.

if it was a 5 spd it be worth 3k i guess but since its an auto 2.5k max.

3k is more then good depending if it has a clean title no accidents and healthy engine

Yea, depends where you are.

I would consider it, but it would depend how much I wanted it, and what it looked like in person.

just talk him down to 2500.. but these days its kinda hard to find an s14 and if you do people ask ridiculous prices. if your doing an engine swap then just get it, the mileage don't really matter. i'm sure your gonna change most suspension as well.. but i'm sure if he's you boy he will hook you up, if not just take it..

$3000 sounds reasonable, if it runs good.

i've seen s13 or s14 that is beat up, n they want over $3000 on craigslists.

Eh, It depends... You might have a hell of a deal. I payed 850 for my s13.... It ran (barely) but I assume I came out ok in the end... Nothing wrong with the body, no rust, ect.

Depends too on how much do you want one.

Well I already have a 90 240 with a SR, PT SC60 turbo,Haltech Standalone the list goes on and on. This deal just came up not that I was searching for one and I was gunna just clean it up really good and drive it as a reliable daily for a while. I appreciate all of your help!:bigok: But it has been stated before I live in North Dakota...not sure how many of you have been up here or have even heard of the place (lmao) but there is nothing up here and 240s are a rarity keep in mind.

:bigok:I want to thank everyone on the forum for the support but I decided against the deal. I took everyones comments into consideration and came up with a NO answer. Lowballing did work for all that voted for that haha. And mel mentioning the 5 speed swap bs definitely turned me away. Ive done 3 5 speed swaps and I am tired of doing them. Thanks for the help again
