well, i replaced the piston rings, main bearings, rod bearings, block machined and re-honed, prepped the oil galleys, polished crank, full gasket set, oil pump, timing chain kit, water pump, thermostat
and took the head to the shop to get re-ground, turns out there was a lot of problems with it, so that cost about $300! well worth it though

i have a question about the vaccum lines, anyone familiar with removing the mess of hardlines behind the head? will my the engine run the same without it? also known as "butterfly removal"

Yes. SCV removal does nothing except free up a little more air and make the engine more serviceable.

ALSO, does anyone know if i have to order the hoses from nissan? or do you guys think i could go to a local auto parts store to get some of the hoses, i noticed some of the hoses are rock hard.. and specally bent.. so im guessing i have to go to a nissan dealer ship?

I just finished replacing the head on my 89 and I just bought hose from my autoparts store to replace all of it. I works, it just takes some time to make it all fit. I also just got a freebie single slammer that'll be getting built for a turbo... woot. Good luck with the rest of it; it looks great.

I think that other hole in the IM goes to the actuator for the butterflies(which i hope you removed). +1 for the SOHC, reminds me of my old one.

just making sure is this how you hook the vaccumm line to the FPR?
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b90/timberlando/DSC00002-17.jpg
and also i need hoses asap, you guys think a local auto parts store would have bypass hoses and blow by hoses?
i tried going to one today and they had a couple, got an upper radiator hose, some heater hoses and one bypass hose.. im not sure if i am hooking them up correctly though..

Those hoses look like the ones from autozone that have the note "trim to fit" on them. To me they look too long, and may need some trimming to work. But if the parts stores computer says they'll work, they probably will to some degree.

Dude, FSM. Seriously. Every hose is labeled and diagrammed. A lot of the coolant stuff can be deleted if you're doing it right and bypassing the TB lines, so from there it's just a matter of making hoses fit where they need to be. I've never needed to buy OE parts when you can buy bulk hose and trim to fit in virtually all applications.

Yes search for the online FSM around here and most, if not all, of your questions will be answered. Get some real hose clamps, too. Those are shiet.
+1 on SOHC builds. I love 'em.

IS there any benefits of turbo-ing a single cam? Will it produce more torque than a dual cam or an SR?

im not sure if this information is accurate, but i heard SOHC has more throttle respone than a DOHC, and also depends on the turbo setup you have, but yeah its going to have more torque than the sr...im pretty sure..

alright well tomorrow the engine goes in for sure! i got a couple questions before it goes in though..
with the wiring all i need to really "wire" up to the transmission is the reverse lights right? (doing auto - 5 speed swap)
also is the breather hose on the transmission pretty important? i guess im missing a piece.. i tried to shove the hose into the hole but it doesn't fit.. haha to big, you guys think i can live without a breather hose or is it a must have?

well i got it all connected up but i think my grounds where wrong, but i tried anyway, i connected the battery and once i connected it it started sparking like crazy, then got really hot and had a burnt smell, then i took em off and noticed the 2 notches that stick out of the bbattery, one of them kind of melted..
now when i try and put connect the battery the car gets no power.. hmmm what is wrong? my grounds bad?
