i have a bnib toda 264's right now but not sure if they are good to go or not because they're 264's but a low lift(10.5) while tomei poncam comes with 256 but a higher lift (11.5)

the ones you have should work fine. the duration is the main thing to be concerned about.

You have a Turbo engine. Outside of the Honda world, the normal wisdom for a Turbo engine setup is to have long duration low lift cams. Reason for this is, with a longer duration cam it gives more time for the turbo to pack in your charge. Where as with Normally aspirated engines you want higher lift cams with shorter duration because you need to suck in your charge and the higher lift cam opens deep allowing for rapid suction. If it opened wide it would slow down the suction process as you would lose more vacuum. Hence with Turbo's aka forced induction your blowing your charge in rather than sucking it.

In other words the cams you have should work great stick with them.

^Eh...

For the SRs, at least, it would seem that high lift cams work well on them.

For example. the Brian Crower 264 cams for the S13 work awesome, as they make huge numbers compared to other cams, and they have 12.06mm lift and 264° duration.

Or you could try the Jim Wolf S3 260's. I love em.

High lift low duration is better for low end torque

less overlap.

oh.. what about the step 2 cams that offer the same duration but a higher lift?
better?
