To begin: I know there is a verify this thread, but I am posting on my phone and the pages are so data extensive that it'll freeze my phone, and I only need one true verfication before it gets locked. And need it as soon as a possible because this is a trade offer and pretty much needs to be completed today b/c I'm working next 5 days straight..
Is this a true Tial 38mm Wastegate? It is nothing against the seller but I know it doesn't have the Tia Tag, and doesn't fit the form of the new Tial, but has similar characteristics to possibly be an older version. *Shrugg*
Will be trading for New OBX Header set and Apexi turbo Timer. If authentic, good trade? $230.00 value

Tial should be etched into the top. If it's not, it's "tial style". Still probably works...

No it does not, that is why I asked the seeler to take the second picture of the top because I know it says Tial, atleast on the new ones, and he took the pic and stated that it does not have the tag on there. Which is why I'm posting...

there should be tial etched into it along with a serial number, if there is a serial number call tial up and ask for Char and see if she can cross reference it to be a real number.

Granted it still "probably works" but I'd be moree comfortable knowing it will. And I don't want to cheap out on parts in my Ka-T build. If I were to get a Tial Style I'm sure I could get it for less then $230.00, which is value of items being traded...

Guys, I thank you for all your help, and there is enough consistancy in your responses to pass on the offer. I had googled and was trying to find older styles and such to cross reference before I posted and had no luck, so I made the post. I've planned on Tial products for some time, and knew it had Tial etched on top, even with silver, which is why I had the seller take the second photo, and it did not, so just wanted to get the final word from my fellow zilvilians, your assistance will be recognised...

again props for wanting to use brand name products from reputable manufactures, this knock off stuff has to have hurt the tial people greatly, they are manufactured in the USA in MI and cant be cheap to machine and cast.
if you are looking for a good deal on the tial 38mm let me know i usually carry a few in stock, tomorrow i'm placing a small order with tial actually. ill be picking up a few Bov's and another wastegate.

Guys I wanted to thank you again for your help. As far as my build is concerned, I only want to use quality items, "Do it once, do it right." I am starting off small, because I want to make sure my 17 year old Ka can handle boost and then do a rebuild with hopes of 350whp (far in the future) Not cheaping out on parts will not only build integrity & reliability with the set up, but will also save me money in the long run because I won't have to replace/upgrade parts or worse yet replace my engine b/c I cut corners...

That really sucks for Tial, the old ones were hard to tell apart and now they say Tial and made in the USA right on them! China is good at making nice looking copies, my buddy picked up a Steve Vai signature Ibanez for $175 shipped on ebay. He took it into guitar center and it looked higher quality than the $2000+ original! The "guitar guy" at the pawn shop even offered him $700 for it even though it sounded like shit :)

My point was, they are getting better at copying things. People wouldn't even suspect a car part that says Made in USA right on the thing. My buddy CALLED UP IBANEZ with the serial number on the back of his FAKE GUITAR and they verified that it was legit! Everyone is screwed, buyers and sellers, when Tial wont be able to tell the difference anymore.
