so i watched up to episode 12, only 1-12 are fansubbed so far. Whats with the plot? I guess the older guys all knew each other back in the day and ran each other, and now they are the tuners, who in which are tuning everyone elses cars so they can run? I know everyone wants to beat teh devil Z, but it seems like they all know each other enough to meet up at places etc reina, akio, tatsuya.

Is there no typical anime rival everyone hates everyone plot? I mean initial D was dope as it delivered rivalry and was more dramatic with it, there was alot of spine-tingling momments. in wangan though, everyone gets along for the most part and even drive each others cars etc. I dunno maybe alot is lost in the translations

Maybe thats why fansub groups just aint too excited on subbing this series.

Eh... but it matches how they race on the real wangan in Japan. There is some rivalry but in general its just people or friends driving really fast.... The manga is so old school its nutz.... sticking with initial d and waiting for stage 5 next year.... blah...

I beg to differ. This show is as boring as watching Nascar except with a weird ass protagonist. I watched the first two episodes then checked out some of the manga. There's nothing interesting about the show at all except for the gangster 240z. They shoulda made a show about Over Rev! since it has a better plot, interesting characters, and good races.

I can easily watch rally and circuit races without getting bored.

Initial D was pretty dope, but the overall storyline and dialogue would drag on for too long in the later episodes and would take away from the races itself

it's lame... a 280z with mikuni sidedrafts on a blow thru turbo setup is making more power to pull away from a 700hp 911 turbo.. sure... that's like you could do 500HP on stock sr injectors if you just jack the fuel pressure high enough.

I watched up to ep 14. I have been a fan for a couple of yrs but really there's no plot however the preople who are the main characters do know each other since back in the day. It starts off with the buying of the blue devil that killed the previous owner. The car was supposed to be totalled but brought back to life. The car is suppose to have a mind of its own and the new owner feels it and trys to understand the vehicle. The other owner was a family man who was caught up in driving wangan that he left his family and bought a gtr. Ahh too much writing to talk about....

Basically when the z is out people notice the devil z is back and people want to race it to be the fastest of the wangan. His main competitor was the porsche which was over 500bhp. Conclusion the z owner realizes racing is stupid and has no meaning besides who can be the fastest and there will always be someone faster than you. But the feeling you get from it is more than that as well. Its up to you to know your limit and stop it.

Pretty much people who race are go on the wangan meet other wangan drivers and wonder who it is and race him but something happens, they meet again to challenge and then it continues. And now I'm rambling. Anywho I like the episodes its just entertainment.
