I'm setting this car up for touge and occasional autocross. Mainly I just want a street driven car that is a cornering monster.

I have the website. It's a package deal for about $850. It's cheaper than buying them individually.

Well dont know if you want that as a daily driver because it gets quite annoying having your kidneys punched out by a stiff ass ride. But thats definitely a good list for any situation.

Yea, this isn't a build thread at all, it's a grocery list of parts that you WANT.

Builds usually consist of a car and parts you already have and are INSTALLING on your car so we can see pictures of what is actually going on.

This forum would be a waste if everyone made new threads telling people of what they PLANNED to do with their car without actually having the money for it.

My wife actually likes how stiff my car rides. Says it corners well and is really fun to drive.

get this man a cookie, this is the most logical witty reply in this useless thread. yay!

=/

I did not know about that suspension package, so thanks for the heads up. I would like to snag all of those bits and have not been looking into upgrading the suspension anymore since the car rides solid. But I'm sure if I was able to dial it in a bit more it would ride even more steady.

Dont get me wrong i love my stiff ass ride as well. Stance GR + pro kazama inserts etc.... but when i'm just relaxing after a hard day at work with my slurpee i want a nice smooth ride, and i have stock seats, maybe thats the problem? I got a daily driver though, problem solved.

What do you have your dampers' settings set at?

I've got stock S14 seats in my S13 w/ Stance GR+, w/ the 9/7 springs on, and SPL T/C rods, and Peak RUCAs and toe rods. Car's not really super stiff, and it rides pretty smooth.

I have been running the following set up on my S13 DD for over 3 years and about 32,000.

JIC FLT-A2 Coilovers
Rears have Z32 lower mount
Rear JIC Camber and Tractions rods
Rear Cusco Toe rod
Stock front tension rods with Nismo Bushings
No name strut tower bars
Cusco front and rear stabilizer bars.

I enjoy the ride and LOVE the handling, it no Cadillac but it does not beat you to death.

JIC has changed/discontinued the FLT-A2 in favor of an updated FLT-TAR. I hope it is better.

I loved the FLT-A2s for the first 6 months and then they started becoming a pain. Once I found the ride height that worked for the streets I drive I had no need to adjust ride height anymore. I have not slammed the car it is adjusted so it can get over a rack at a shop and usually does not rub going over curbs, speed bumps etc. I adjusted at the lower perch to maintain shock travel and set up the preload as instructed by JIC on the phone. I also asked JIC on the phone if I need to do anything special to maintain them "Just keep them clean and watch for damage". At 6 months the Jam nut for the spring perch would get loose and slowly change the ride height (check often). Still loving them but realized these were designed for "off road" and I had to baby sit them. At 20 months since purchase but only 11 months of driving the right rear strut blow. No warranty they have to be rebuilt. Rears sent to Cali, get a call and JIC asks why I am not running dust covers and why I have helper springs on the rear? I had special ordered these through JIC to get the Z32 lower mount I even talked to them about softer springs 7/5 and If I would need anything else for DD. JIC recommended 8/6 springs and rear helpers (note: no dust cover not needed). Rears rebuilt, four dust boots, three weeks and $450 later car is back on road and handling great. In the last 18 months I have had more problems with the jam nuts working loose and noise from the camber plates (need to be lubed JIC never mentioned this even when asked). Now the Fronts need work they will not compress Frozen/Seized the only suspension I have is the cushion of the tire. I hit a big bump and the frontend skips across the road. Called JIC again the fronts have to be rebuilt, another $400 I’m frustrated and ask what needs to be done to maintain these. Now I get a laundry list of things and a recommendation of having the struts rebuilt every two years at $200 per corner. I’m also told they have updated to the TAR and now they come with 7/5 springs they found they work better on the poor roads in the states. At a cost of $1,800 I expected better reliability than having to rebuild every two years. So I will end up replacing these with something else, I’m still researching but I'm thinking Vielsides housing, Ground Control coilovers and KONI 86XX struts.
I'm not saying JIC makes a bad product. I would consider JIC for a track car or something other than a DD. But I am disappointed with the reliability, the frequency of rebuilds and cost to rebuild for something in this price range.

Whether the list of parts posted is a "Dreamer" list or not, decent builds start on paper or with an idea.

Give the guy a break, we all were at this point at one time or another.
