My brand new engine has bad valve seals and is smoking like a mofo. I need to replace them but I REALLY dont want to pull the motor out since I just installed it. Im sure there is a tool that can make this job quite easy with the head still on the car but I cant seem to find it.
Can anyone link me or recommend a valve spring compressor that will work on SR heads.

i got mine from MAG tool
65 bucks...you just need to pressurelize the motor so the valves dont drop after you pull out the springs

use the 1 from snap on. it has a bar that bolt on 2 help with leverage. check it out.

well if you are removing the springs with the head still on dont forget you need that sparkplug tool to presureize the cylinder to keep the valve from dropping into the cylinder

well sr's are interferece motors. you can just set which ever cylinder youre working on to TDC and just let the valve fall on top of the piston. while you replace the seals. afterwards you can pick it up with your fingers, or with a magnet.

i herd of some tool that acually holds the valves in place by using pressurized air.. i think you connect it where the spark plug goes and it shots air in the conbustion chamber holding valve in place...... but im not to sure

yea the tool that pressurizes the cylinder would probably be the easyest way of doing it

take this advise !! pressure tool is good but if you even have the slightest leak the valves could fall in and youre fucked!! its very simple and will save you the extra cost for the tool.
#1.take out the spark plug
#2 put a long screw driver in the hole
#3 crank the motor over with a socket wrench until the piston pushes it out
#4 replace seal
#5 repeat with other 3 ;)
my advise would be also to change springs and retainers while you're there

Here is the one I used. Its the same style as the Snap on but just no name and cheaper. I got it on ebay for 60 dollars. Seach for "valve spring tool"
