first off, im not asking how to do the swap. i have searched and found the answers to both solutions.
my question is, why should i do one over the other?
i hate the automatic seat belts in my s13, fucking choke myself everytime i open the damn door.
i know that if i go with the jdm s13 belts, ill be able to swap out the pillars, but its gonna be expensive (250 on pandagarage?)
if i use belts from the s14, it will as cheap as i can get them from the junkyard, but ill be stuck with with my current interior.
anyone else wanna chime in?

Well heres the Deal.
Coupe or Hatch??
Depends on How Clean you Want it to look?My Interior is Flawless and I'm kind of Anal but:
The pillars won't fit unless you get the A's & B's + the headliner (+ make sure it has the "oh Shit" handle). The JDM Headliner extends toward the door a tad more on JDM.Don't know why.
...unless you don't mind the gap that will be at the top Where the Plastic Trim Dosen't meet the headliner @ the top.You can see Paint color through there.
I bought a set for like $120 off ebay from pandagarage...it didn't include the Oh shit handle & thats really hard to Find alone.
+ when I saw They didn't fit right...I took the actual Belt trim garnish cap of the JDM ones (where it Comes out @ your Shoulder) and Cut a hole in my Stock stuff,..Placed the Garnishcap over the Hole and it Looks Factory.Left the OEM A-pillars there and its Not that big a deal.
So Basically all i used was the Belts and this 1 little peice for each side that Makes the hole Look "Clean" where the Belt comes out.
I'd need to show you a pic of what I'm talking about.
So its up to you.DEF better than the "death Traps/belts".

i have s14 seatbelts in my s13. imo, the install is pretty clean and looks almost factory. like Mrfairlady, im pretty anal about what and how i do things. the only thing that annoys me is the gap on the a pillar where the auto seatbelt track used to be. other than that, the slit i had to cut on the b pillar for the belt and the hole to mount the top of the belt looks pretty much factory.
it was cheaper to go that route. plus im not baller enough like Mrfairlady to get the whole 9 yards.

sorry, i forgot to mention i have a coupe.
i just want it to look clean, as if thats how the car came.
but even with the jdm pillars and headliner, its still not going to look right?
the only thing that annoys me is the gap on the a pillar where the auto seatbelt track used to beone of the main reasons for me not going with s14 belts.

use s14 seatbelts
I bought JDM S13 seatbelts from West Covina. Took a while to come in since they were out of stock and had to ship from Japan, but they bolted in fine. It didn't come with interior panels though.

Ever think of buying the seat belts and interior panels from....Canada?
The Canadian model of the S13 came with manual belts.

personally im just gonna go the s14 route and just Fiber Glass the opening for the auto belts track so it closes the gap, a little black paint and bam...no gap and clean interior...

Correct. I got my almost complete conversion (belts, A and B pillar panels, but no headliner or oh shit bars) from Canada for $100 shipped. Just google some Canadian forums and contact the people parting out their cars. I'm trying to source a clean headliner but shipping would be a bitch.
