The word on the street is that Nismo USA will not be importing LMGT4 wheels anymore.

Is there any truth to this?

99 percent of the nismo wheels we see here are

1. Shitty sizing
2. Expensive as fuck for what you get

Yeah that's what the email I got from Eddie at Performance Nissan was saying, was that they cannot import LM-GT4s anymore due to conflict of interest.

Yea, thats why some people have gotten them at killer prices, dealerships trying to get them gone.

let not have this turn into one of "those" threads.

granted yes, they are a lot of money... but you also need to keep in mind who makes them, and its a forged one piece wheel...

Hit up Shundi in Japan. He'll get it for you. I got my wheels in less than a week from him when I ordered some discontinued advans. When it's not available local, go around the system thru a nice loophole.

the bronze lmgt4s are discontinued...they were selling them off at my dealer for like 130 bucks employee cost, the silver ones are still available as far as i know at full price...and yes the offsets sucked, but you could order custom offset lmgts for a good amount of coin...

^^where are you getting them at $132.67/wheel.

I've seen places selling the 18x9.5 +30s for $300/wheel

I don't know about the ones hating on the LMGT4s, but I love the way they look on my car. Have a look for yourself:

Too bad my car looks multi-colored now because I wanted to go back to a stock-looking car, but the wheels have worked great for me along with the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions I have them wrapped with. With the Megan Racing Track coilover setup I have, they fit perfect. Now, the only issue (if you want to call it that), is that the rear wheels obviously are really wide, but I've never had a fitment problem. I didn't use any spacers to get these wheels to fit right at all.

It's cause your car isn't that low.

Once you're "man spec lowness", your rear wheels will be kind of sunk.

Right, and honestly that's because I really don't like to be that low to the ground anyway. I race the car at certain road courses and other racing events, and the last thing I want is to scrape the body all over the place for no reason, so that was another big reason for keeping my car a bit raised up as well. Too much negative camber to me looks silly, but to each his/her own.

I do know that if you lower it too much, the rear tires will be hitting the fenders a LOT. I guess rolling the fenders would help if one were to really lower their car, but I wouldn't know about any of that business as I've never done it before.

SoSideways
07-15-2008, 10:42 AM
The rear tires won't hit anything if you roll your rear fenders, even if you tuck the entire sidewall and have just the lip hanging out beyond the fender.

Your rear suspension should camber in as the wheel travels up, so it shouldn't hit anything. If it hits, then either you setup your rear suspension/wheel setup incorrectly, or something is wrong.

Anywho, yes, 18x9.5 +30 isn't too bad, provided you're not slammed. If you're slammed, it is way too high of an offset.

Define "REAL" sizing. Do you mean wheels that have negative offset? The ones that stick so far out they cause premature hub bearing wear? The wheels that allow you to run, for example, a 215 tire on a 10.5" rim? The wheels that you have to run a 1" spacer to clear the caliper possibly causing the wheel to rip the threads off the hub during wwf-drifting? The wheels that're so wide that they require you to pull the fender out the body needs to be cut and reworked to get that aggressive stance?

I like fake sizing then... whatever that is.

Cause you sound like a dumbass that's speaking from your ass, however that works on the interwebz :jerkit:

^Relax. It's just a joke. But there's something to be said for "real" sizing referring to something that will clear coil-overs. +30 might not clear, so real or fake that's no good for us.

For what it's worth, you could run 17x9 +12 (like my fronts) all around with very little problem unless you wanted to be slammed and it'd clear everything. Don't fight the norm so much. :) No reason for rim choices to get you all in a tizzy, man.

EDIT: meant for mmdb

The bronze rear LMGT4's that were on clearance are completely sold out, there may be some fronts left though.

I've got the silver ones in my car in the 350z sizing, looks fine to me and i was more interested in weight/quality than offset.
