ugh what a horrible day... i finally had all my stuff to do a swap including new brakes, wheels, hubs/knuckles etc
The day went smooth initally because i had help, but damn shit hits the fan with a quickness. I BROKE A BREAKER BAR  and every single thing that went wrong did....damn megans law.
Just to clear it up which way does the 30mm supernut on the passenger side turn???? i mean i got the other one off with ease like EASY, but the passenger side I JUMPED ON WITH A BREAKER BAR AND IT DID NOT BUDGE EVEN WITH HAMMERING, WD40, HAMMERING ETC. i am friggin 190lbs!!!!
can someone give me any pointers who is a pro at this?....i have researched this for 4+ months seriously before doing it, buit theres nothing like the real thing

I thought the hub nut was like a 34? and last i remember its righty tighty lefty loosey.
Nvr have had a problem when swapping to 5 lug. Maybe some PB Blast or Liquid Wrench?

megans law? i think you mean murphy's law haha
its always
counter clockwise -> loosen
clockwise -> tighten
make sure you were turning the right way, and you remembered to pry back the little locking indents on the nut. if you're really stuck just take it to a shop and impact that sucker off.

....damn megans law.
Murphy's law, unless the 5lug install went bad because you had to register as a sex offender and inform your neighbors.
edit: goddamn, I cannot stop getting beaten to the punch today.

i made it sound fancier than it is
if you look at the big golden nut for the hub you'll notice its crushed in a bit on two sides. pry it open a bit.
although i doubt that alone would hold hard enough to snap a breaker bar

That should get it off :rawk:
Hell even that 1/2" $20 one could do it easy.

try pb blaster and getting a long pole and put in the breaker bar so it can be easier

I was talking about the rear anyways. I said like. No where did I say, IS a 34.

aiight so the rear is a 34 thanks i was wondering...
and poopy there was no spot where the gold but was crushed in 2 spots.... bleh my car is all in teh air looking uncomfy. ill try PB blaster tomorrow, i agree that WD40 is more for rust
try hitting it with a ruber mallet rust some times acts like glue. Spray it with PB blaster let it sit for 5 min then hit the nut a few time with the mallet it might dislodge the rust that is keeping it stuck. Or just turn it counter clockwise.

well aga...that was what this thread was about: loads of FIAL! anyways got everything swapped today by someone more diesel that me although he is shorter...lighter...w/e im a big wuss.
So problem 2 arises: I have long studs in front....and my open ended wont fit! its too short...so i have 10 minutes to buy new ones and i did...but they were the wrong ones (fial)
I think to myself ok ill just hammer out the long studs put in my old shorts and use ALL open ended...guess what? THE CHEAPO LUG NUTS CROSS THREAD!!!! ARGH... what ever there is still tomorrow
Next phase: continue using short lugs and get better open endeds

glad ur making progress
a trick you can try next time is to lay the breaker bar horizontal and then put the jack under it. jack it up and let the weight of the car break it loose. you just gotta hold everything in place.

Sounds dangerous lol
I just took part of my jack's handle (it's in 2 sections so I disconnected the top half and grabbed that) and added it to my breaker bar, positioned the bar so I can just push forward/down, and SNAP, broke it loose.

Or you can slide your jack handle on it for even more leverage.
I helped a friend do a 5 lug swap a couple weeks ago.
Make sure to use quality tools.
We used standard kragen crappy tools only because that's all we had access to and they were free.
We broke HELLA shit.
And it's no fun busting your knuckle for no reason other than the tool crapping out.
I mean damn, I rather bust a knuckle knowing I loosened the nut as opposed to doing it because I'm getting owned by china.

what? some cars must be diferent then because I just did this 5 lug swap on my S13 over the weekend and it is 100% FOR SURE a 34mm!! and I used a HUGE (and I mean huge!) breaker bar on the end of the 1/2". we had a 7 foot 150 pound bar on that and it was still hard to break it loose! the drivers side came right off but the passenger side was a pain.

Sounds like someone else had messed with the axle nuts then.
Mine were 36mm and came off without too much problem.
Listen to Russ when he drops knowledge, because it is 110% correct, and he'll spork you in the neck if you question his facts (fact, meaning it's right, not fiction, like it's made up).

what we need to do is figure out what the hell is going on here. I have two s13's and a couple other guys with em as well and EVERY one of em is 34mm because we all used the same tools? I know he is a smart guy and has been in the scene for awhile but that info is not matching all of our cars? would you like a pic. for proof? I dont know what else to say?
