Hey,
Searched and could not find nada por nada on this idear.
Anybody know how much it'll cost or pics of said roof on an S-chassis? Called around just now, but didn't find a shop on Friday afternoon. Need to check next week.
Of course there was a pink one in drift tengoku.....but no pics online
Found tons of write-ups, but not going to attempt that one.

Unless this is going on a vintage VW, then this idea is as great as putting your nuts in a bear trap.

Ugly in my opinion. I would rather do the Tagra Top than that crap.

Yeah,
been wrestling withthis idea lately, cause I wanna build up a vert after my coupe. Summer time and all here in Socal would be perfect for it. I like sunroofs, but overlooked that option when I got a coupe. The Sroofs on these stock are BADASS.But, it would be a vert which includes far more headaches with the roof alone. Also I have no garage. Granted it would be easy to break into still. Ughhh, gay shit. I need to finish my car. Just needs paint.

If you want to tackle this project (to each their own!), give Street Beat Customs a call. They're located in Arizona, and they are the largest supplier of rag tops in America. They will guide you into the correct size to maximize area without running into support beams and such.
They may also be able to direct you to a shop that could do the install.
You didn't say where in Cali you're located, but if you're norCal I can probably find a shop to get it done for you.
As for soCal... try some of the minitruck shops- Devious Customs comes to mind as one of the trusted names.
I think it might look really cool- very different for sure. Good luck if you decide to go through with it!
PS- I just noticed that you said "electric"... I have heard bad things about the motorized models binding up and breaking unless they are installed PERFECTLY, so you might consider the manual version- they're not that hard to open and close by hand, and it'll save you money, too.

I walk the line between minitrucking and imports, so this thread was calling out to me!! Every now and then I get the opportunity on here to provide some truck-related information, and sometimes I get to throw some 240 knowledge onto the truck forums!
