I need help bad I have had the same problem for a year and I can not figure this out. I have a 96 s14 with a s14 sr engine, recently I upgraded the turbo to a gt28rs and got a z32 MAF, and a apexi safc. The car ran great for about 2000 miles boosting hard, with the stock injectors. The n one day I went to drive and at about 4 grand the car started misfiring sounding like a wrx. I thought it was the ecu so I sent it to jimwolf and had the ecu flashed for the MAF and the stock injectors that did nothing same problem. I changed the plugs and that changed a lilttle little bit, checks the coils and they are all good. The timeing has not been changed so I dont think is would be off. My buddies say that they think it is a fuel problem b/c it idles ok, and this only happens when you reach a certian boost.

How much power/boost? I think you are running out of injector.

I have the nismo fpr . It is my understanding that the stock 370 injecttors can handel 15 lbs of boost

No, they can't.

No, they can't.
+2 and if the car sounds like a subaru you most likely have a dead/dying fuel injector now.

I think someone was running a bit lean and dropped a cylinder.

gt28rs+15 PSI+ Stock 370cc = Lean

Hope its an injector.

Any blow by? have you checked compression

If its not blown lower the boost or upgrade your injectors.

even at 10 psi it still misfires what I am running now In adjusted the cas sensor and it helped little bit, if this was a i injector problem would the misfire happen all the time

How do I test the injectors, I know a old timer test of putting a flat head screwdirver on each one and male sure you hear tick but I dont really think this apply's here. when
i adjusted the cas I can get to a higher rpm before it misfires, but now the check engine light comes on and blinks but it wont throw a code. I have been monitoring the knocks and they have gotten much better since the fpr was instaled and will read zero but still sometimes they rise on the apexi safc

You need a timing gun to adjust your CAS. It's not some magic knob you turn. It's to set your base timing.

What's your fuel pressure at idle with the vac off the fpr?

What does your AFR's look like?

THE FUEL PRESSURE IS AT 44 WITH THE VAC OFF I TURNED IT UP A LITTLE BIT TO SEE IF THIS WOULD HELP BUT IT DID NOTHING. i HAVE A INLINE GAUGUE AND IT SEEMS TO BE HOLDING PRESSURE. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE A cas PROBLEM , OF IT NEEDING ADJUSTMENT IF SO HOW DO YOU ADJUST. OR DOES THE TIMING NEED TO BE CHANGED. I PULLED EACH COILPACK OFF ONE BY ONE TO SEE IF WOULD REALLY CHANGED THE IDLE, NONE DID. i DONT HAVE A AIR FUEL RATIO GAUGE BUT I WOULD IMAGINE THAT THEY WOULD BE GOOD IF THE COMPUTER WAS FLASHED BY JIM WOLF WHAT SHOULD i START DOING TO GET THIS CAR RUNNING RIGHT B/C RIGHT NOW i ALMOST FEEL LIKE i SHOULD FIND ANOTHER SET OF INJECTORS, AND CHANGE THE CAS SENSOR

Do you know how to use a timing gun?

Yes but when you check the time does the car have to be in timing mode or just regularly idling
