I was thinking either or i have an hefty sum of money comming my way in the near future * couple months * and i was either going to get a paint job or do a engine swap color was going to be Depont Midnight Blue.. but now i am thinking i wanna do some more engine mods.. so i have the idea of either 1. ordering a CA18Det from Afterdark with a intake and downpipe and work form what i get on that after it is in my car.. or i can build up my DOHC ka i have in my car *just finished swap* and buy a head from Frog and buy a ECU from JW Tech.. any feedback would be great perks of either or negatives of either thank you

well just take a look at the KA build up thread. Most ppl are gonna say just do the swap if you want power. CA's are turbo so you know upgrading for more power isn't that big of an issue. My only concern with the CA is I haven't seen as much aftermarket for it as the SR.

KA or CA :P positives and negatives of both.. this is what i was going to do
KA DOHC in my 89 i have now.. after taxes and a bit of money i would buy a head from gude and ecu from jim wolf
CA18 i would like but just doing another swap isnt something i would be looking forward to for the fact i just finished this one and for everything i would get aftermarket i would get from AfterDark.. like the intake and downpipe then i will do lil things like upgrade the intercooler a bit and stuff like that but those are the options

i'd say get the ca. i dunno if i want an sr or ca. from what i've heard from the local sr shop, its not hard to convert parts made for the sr to the ca. but i've also heard, that most parts are actually interchangible. i'm not positive that its true, but the guy that does the swaps, claims for it to be true. so... if money is an issue, i'd go with the ca. big bang for little dough. :)

$1200 isn't enough to do a swap in my opinion. Why bother too since you allready swapped a good engine in there. Get a paint job or buy some performance things (save the ECU as the last go-fast mod you do)

well whats else can i do?
i have Injen intake, hot shot header, unorthadox underdrive spec stage 2 clutch, process of doing exhaust like high flow cat and stuff.. i am just pissed that i hit 115 and my cut off comes on in 4th ****ing gear .. so what else can i get to go faster and is it possible to remove the 115 stopper without buying ecu *main reason i was gonna get it* and then get 185 mph speedo
