I am looking for some aftermarket cams for KA.
I saw some bc 264/264 cams for KA. It says plug and play. Do I really not need any tuning for that cam setup? or what else you guys suggest?

You don't really have to tune the BC cams, but you most definitely can if you get adjustable cam gears to have the cams give you a bit more power. I for one don't care for tuning cams on an NA setup as the power derivative from an NA setup with cams is marginal than a turbo setup. I netted a 10whp gain with my SR20DET setup with HKS Step 2 cams and adjustable cam gears on top of the 30 whp I gained with those cams compared to the stockers. I think with a non-turbo setup the gains just won't be as large.

Also, one thing I've never enjoyed about our KA or SR motors is that the task to tune cams with adjustable gears is quite tedious given that you have to keep bolting and unbolting the VC to get to the cam gears. So I prefer sticking to stock specs and calling it a day.

If you want peak power or want to adjust at what rpm you want the "fat" of the power curve, then I guess it's worth it. But do remember that this requires a lot of dyno time to get the power curve you want.

Now that I've gone back to a KA setup, I'm contemplating on getting the same BC cams as you're shooting for. And guess what, I'm not doing all of that. I guess I must be lazy or cheap to worry about trying to get as much power out of the cams. Anything over stock profile is better to me.

Either way, it's all upto you in the end with what you want from your motor.
