Hey guys I am looking for a wheel spacer kit for the fronts. I want between a 20 to 25mm spacer and replacement studs to go along with it. I know H&R sells such a kit but their site is down and I am really not sure who sells them and who has more information about the product online. If anyone knows where I can purchase the H&R kit or knows of other kits available and where I can find them please post. I do not want an adapter type wheel spacer because I have to replace my studs anyway so longer studs is the most practical choice for me.

hub-centric wheel spacers are the only safe ones. not the cheap pep boys/autozone 2.99 aluminum universal spacers.

i have some 5 lug h & r spacers for sale click here to veiw (http://www.eframes.com/default.asp?guestalbum=33820.8560)

if you go longer studs/spacers. you need to make sure your spacers are proper size and even better: hubcentric. make sure the studs are installed properly

if you go bolt on style, make sure they are torqued to the proper specs. also it is good to remove the wheel and retorque them. make sure your wheel is torqued to them properly too.

they are VERY COMMON in japan. i am getting me some 25mm bolt on ones next month. hehe...then i can use LOW OFFSET up front once again....ahh the memories..

I went to options auto website and found exactly what I had in mind. The 20mm DRS kit (20mm spacer with 66.2mm studs). They appear to be out of stock though. Anyone know where else I might be able to pick this kit up?

i got 20 mm R and R DRS kit and put longer ARP wheel studs on it. to fit my fat lip rims over the zx brakes
worked great. i forgot where i got the spacers from.

yea thats the plan. Think I'm gonna put my tax return toward z brakes in the front this spring. Also I want to make room for a set of JIC FLT-A2's this summer. I just need to find someone that has these damn spacers in stock.

I'm confused as to why hubcentric rings are so important, regardless of whether or not you're using spacers.
I know on wheels, these keep the wheel centered on the hub, but with spacers, wouldn't the tapered lug nuts center the wheel as they're tightened?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that hubcentric spacers are important b/c it takes some of the load so that it's not all on the studs.

Hubcentric is a term that refers to how a wheel is centered during installation. When you put a wheel on the 240 the bore of the rim should rest snugly around the part of the hub that is sticking out. This centers the rim while you tighten down the lugnuts. If you get aftermarket rims and do not have the proper hub rings then alot of times what will happen is you get a tire that feels "out of balance" i.e. a shimmy in the steering. Some cars (most honda's I believe) are lug centric and use the lugs as a centering tool during installation. But hubcentric and lug centric are for installation only. They have no bearing on the loads carried by the studs. Hope this sheds a little light on the topic.

P.S. I still need to know where to order H&R's kit. Options Auto is out of stock.

I have some brand new 15mm H&R's with longer studs too. They are 4 lug. I want to sell all four but two could be done. Asking $225 for all four. Make Me an Offer!

ok many of you know i'm still doing body work to fix my coupe, and the wheel well in the back doesnt look perfect so i was planning of putting on a nice set of fat fender flares. i have base model s14 rims. and i wanted some spacers to make it flush or at least pushe them out but i need it to be safe as well for autocross. also i'm doign road race this season. i'm joingin NASA so it has to be able to pass tech. thanx for any suggestions.

correct me if im wrong, but if i have an offset of -40 would a 5 mm spacer then make my offset -35?

adey

Yup! you'd get +35 if you sandwiched a 5mm spacer on a +40mm wheel.
If you have a 18x7.5 +40 wheel, I'd use 20mm spacer out back (adapter type) and a 10mm spacer up front for optimum fender-fillage. :)

hey turbo240sx thanks for the link. They to were out of stock but I ordered them today and they were very helpful. A bit more expensive than options auto but I needed them asap and so GMP is drop shipping them to me directly from H&R (something Options Auto was not willing to do).

but the little extra cash for them to be as helpful as they were is ok, they overnighted mine to me for free.
