Robocop in 2010!!!!!!!!!

I decided to see if I could dig up anything about a new Robo movie and I find this! This makes me so excited. I knew Hollywood would stumble back on to one of my most favorite franchises ever.

This raises very big questions.

1. Is it a reboot/remake?

2. Is it just another film in the series (after the horrendous Robocop 3, and the semi-bad Robocop 2)?

3. Peter Weller is 60 this year. Will he be back in the suit, or at least in voice form?


I hope to God this is not a remake of the Verhoeven film, if it is, I will be absolutely crushed.

I know many of you are going to hate me for saying this, but I think what made it so enjoyable was that it was directed by Verohoven. He's a true master of action camp classics imo (intentional or not). I've always enjoyed his cynical, ultra-cheesy depiction of the future and dark humor. Everything from the 'over the top' gore sequences to mock-umentry type in movie ads (6000 SUX) were great. Robocop was def one of his best work. Only thing missing was Arnold Schwarzenegger, who starred in many of his other features.

Sequels that came later wern't as effective without him directing. Robocop 3 (target demographic was prob for little kids) shouldn't have even been made
