Going to be running a coilless DE head on a DET bottomend rather than the conventional coilpack setup on the DETS. Anyone have any negatives about running this setup?

how are u gonna run a coilless de head? what u gonna do with the distributor, A and B not using a coil pack and cas of the det is like having sex with your girlfriend after she just told you she contracted aids from your father; just dont do it.

low compression on a DET bottom end, it will be a dog.

It is going to be turbo'd so the low compression isn't goin to cause any problems but can you please elaborate on why you don't think I should run a distributor?

becuase DET heads have cam oil squirters, and the DE heads dont. coilpack gives alot stronger of a spark as well.

here in PR a bunch of people are running distributors in the place where the CAS is... and guess what? in my opinion its ugly as hell and it sucks... at least people here have to do it since not everyone can get a sr20det harness and all that stuff or coilpacks...

oh yeah i forgot to say this... didnt say any of the above to say anything bad about your idea whatever u want to do with your engine is your choice
but yeah a DET head would be easier and less problems... if its going to be boosted why even get a de head in the first place... and like Xdarkrune said you have the squirters and coilpacks which are in many peoples opinion better spark and if u have to upgrade it really isnt that expensive but stock coilpack go a long way before needing to upgrade...

Umm, im assuming youre going to put a RWD NA head on right? FWD NA SR20DEs are completely different beast to the RWD SR20DEs. If you're gonna frankenstein it, hope youre frankensteining it with a RWD head atleast.
I dont see the point of this since there is absolutely nothing to gain from it. DET valves are also bigger than the NA valves.

Why do this? If your going turbo just buy another DET head. Otherwise what you would want to do is put a high port DET head on a S14 SR bottom end with a ITB setup from a GTiR.
