I've finally got my KA-T set up running, I have all the parts I need, and I've finally got my ECU problem sorted out... WHEW!

So I've been trying to get the car running smoothly with all the components, and narrowed it down to my biggest problem.

The Z32 N62 MAF.

The car/ecu tune is set up for this:

Enthalpy ECU

T28 off S14

450CC injectors

Z32 MAF

SMIC

ARC S13 BOV

When I start the car with the maf disconnected, the start up is quick doesn't stumble and idles well.

However when I plug in the MAF, the engine falls flat on its face, starts running pig rich and starts spewing black smoke into my garage.

I've double checked the wiring on the MAF and corrected all the errors, wrapped all the exposed wires in electrical tape.

But still no avail.

Any ideas? Has anyone else had this issue? I'm going to continue to search, but I thought that this would make my search go a lot faster, or at least give me some ideas.

Try volt testing the maf. I beleive at idle its suppose to be at 1.28v. If its above or below could be a damaged maf or pigtail. I had a very similar problem with my car at first but it turned out to be a fucked up pigtail.

I assumed you used JWT's maf wiring diagram?

It won't idle with the maf plugged in LOL.

I hope its not the pigtail, although I can buy one from a local shop.

I did use JWT's MAF diagram.

lol my mistake haha i misread it :o Well could be a pigtail? or something just wired wrong? My problem before i swapped pigtails was the car was running retarted rich, idle sucked, putting out days of smoke out. After i swapped pigtails car idle'd much better and no fumes. Also I only ask about the maf wiring because a lot of people on the forums have used JWT's diagram with failed attempts. There is a great Z32 maf install on ka-t.org if you want to look it up since it has very detailed pics which is nice.

Any one else? I'm gonna clean the maf and run it without an air filter today...

Buying a SARD pigtail tomorrow, I hope that fixes things!

I installed the new Tomei pigtail, no luck.

Installed a borrowed N62 from a friend. BAM started and idled fine...

So now I have to find a new Z32 MAF. Problem solved. Someone help me:
