I have my 95 stripped down to nothing right now and I pulled out the carpet. I wanted to get new carpet to replace the old warnout stuff. I figured getting new stuff from nissan was out of the question. So I thought Maybe getting a uncut piece of automotive carpet and cutting it myself or would it be better to find a used one with no rips? Or is there a company out there that would be selling new carpet for the 240sx?

I bought carpet from stock interiors . com $120 +/-

I had a horrible time fitting it (4 hours) it came out like hell gaps cut to much here and there.

30 min. with clean factory carpet for $50 on zilvia was a better route for me

Aftermarket carpets lack the white plastic strips on the edges of the carpet. Make sure you save those pieces or you will have a bitch of a time getting it to stay in place on the edges. Some of the aftermarket carpets also lack the holes etc so that is a pita too.

I searched and searched until I found someone parting out an s14 with perfect carpet and jumped on it. Install was cake.

If you need those strips I pulled mine off the crap carpet I threw out. All you do is staple them in the same place as the oem carpet.

I also got my carpet from www.stockinteriors.com.

It was not pre-cut, and was only partially molded. I preferred it that way.
A sharp razor blade, a heat gun, and patience are your best friends.

Clean stock carpet can be difficult to find. I know my stock carpet in my '93 was stained and ripped from the previous owner.

I am very happy with my aftermarket carpet.

stock interiors was my choice as well. Just make sure you are careful about cutting (my center console hole was not quite right so i need to repair a bit but it should come out fine). Also, dont do it in the sun and plan an entire day for the swap as cutting the holes takes a wile and a good deal of guess work/ experimentation. It came out very nice, but was a pain in the ass. However, thats pretty much how carpet installs roll. If you already have the car disassembled, then you probably need less time than i did. Still, plan more time than you think.

On the white strips: fuck them, they dont staple well, they are hard to get off, and they just dont do much. I had a much better time just leaving the carpet alittle too big and squishing it between the running board and the lip where the white strip is supposed to sit. Worked fine for me.

Try to get a contractor grade titanium iridium asddfhasdsfhakds-ium edged razor blade (check slickdeals.net, some company is always giving away samples) as they hold the edge better while cutting through the carpet. Oh, and they are free and usually have a pretty logo on them advertising the company they came from :-P

hey dude i tried to order a piece of automotive carpet and cut it like u said and it took forever and looked like crap. Its way harder thanyou think cutting all the holes for everything. I looked around for a while and for a really good carpet at my local junkyar for 37 dollars and you can probally find someone parting out their car around you and buy the carpet off of them. Good luck with your project

whats the deal with them, nothing for s14's besides the passenger side

its the passenger "area" not the passenger side, its all the carpeting for the whole interior.

Passenger area = The front and back seat floors.

They don't make S14 cargo area carpet, which would be the trunk.

I plan to go with stockinteriors.com also good luck finding a stock mint condition carpet for a 10+ year old car, most people don't take good care of their carpet and I'm anal about that stuff I don't even want one little stain on my carpet. Aftermarket carpet will just take some patience to install its not going to drop right in.

Supposedly? S15 carpet will fit into the S14 with little work and comes in black if im not mistaken...I havent seen write ups for it, just cars claiming to use it.

I just found this website also that sells interior carpet for the 240sx also and mats.

www.accmats.com (http://www.accmats.com)

I think I might just end up going with either stockinteriors stuff or the accmats. So what about securing the carpet down? Will I need the factory plastic clips and try to reattach them? I definitely agree with getting some kind of industrial knife or sissors to cut the carpet with so that it doesn't fray. If anyone has the stock clips I could use them. LOL

I got mine from a company in Australia. Knoxx Auto Carpets www.knoxautocarpets.com.au (http://www.knoxautocarpets.com.au)

They had a wide range of textures and colours (even pinks and what not which I think a few guys on this forum may dig)

Anyways, it's moulded and it's a 2-piece wich overlaps just behind the beam underneath the front seats. Holes need to be cut yourself. If you do the installation properly then it fits perfectly and looks great.

Will see if I got some pics and post em up.

Keep in mind that stripped race cars are driven with earplugs. It doesn't matter who you are, subjecting yourself to that much noise will make you go deaf over time. Doesn't matter how macho you think you are.

After a while your brain will tune out the noise, and eventually you will lose hearing for that frequency so you won't even notice.

Either patch up your interior or wear earplugs. There's no way around it.

Thanks. They were knock off Sparco's - albeit pretty good ones. Sourced them locally from an accessory shop. Recently sold them to get something else.

Thanks. Yeah I got the Charcoal Plush. I'd recommend it to anyone too. Be sure to specify which side you want the driver side floor plastic.

If your carpets not ripped you can always dye it. I just used 2 cans of that duplicolor fabric spray. Lasted for a over a year, and will probably keep lasting.

If you want stock charcoal or black carpets for your s13 than search for 1989 or 1990 240SX. I was able to source a near perfect one for $50 at the junkyard. I see really nice ones, but they're almost always gray. If I ever see a black or charcoal one I'll be sure to post it up for sale.

best carpet for s13 = SOHC carpet.. alot better imo then the DOHC stuff. I remember getting one at the junkyard for 12 bucks.. shampooing it, and throwing it into my DOHC and it was fresh. The material was better. Dont know why nissan changed it.

my stockinteriors one also was difficult to put in and fits badly.

im inexperienced with upholestry stuff so yea, i guess if youre patient you can make it fit nice.

If anyone sourced theres at a junkyard, how was the underside? It wasnt moldy and didnt smell like a gym locker did it? I know when I ripped up my 95 it was all falling apart and had some water stains.

Oh yeah, after fitting the new carpet the floormats will look outdated. So thats the next thing to replace. Mate of mine knows someone in the upholstery industry and they make mats for mercedes, bmw (both of which are assembled locally in SA for the european market)

Anyways, we had some mats made up for the s13's and N14's based on the exact shape of the OEM mats for a perfect snug fit. Here are some pics: (N14 mats shown here)
