Ok so I just put my rebuilt KA24 back in, with the right timing on both cams and distributor and I am getting a jumpy tach when I try to start it.
I know spark is there, fuel is there, but for some reason it wont start.
I know the timing is right on the cams because they are both pointing outwards when the first piston is at tdc.
Can anyone give me a hand here and tell me if that would cause my car not to start or do I have another problem that I am not seeing.

Put a timing light on it while your cranking.
I bet that if the tach is freakin and it's not starting you may have spark but your crank signal is screwy.
Make sure the plug is fully seated, then check the wiring to see if the outer shielding on the crank signal wire is properly grounded as well as making sure the wire isn't broken anywhere.

Thank you, thats the answer he was hoping to get. +1 for you. Just to make it fast, which ones is the crank signal wire?

You hook up all your grounds?

You hook up all your grounds?
could a faulty ground be the culprit of a jumpy tach, on a regular ka?

Ive traced the whole wiring harness back and as far as I can see all the grounds are connected, but I will recheck everything again tomorrow and try to start it again. Thanks for help, keep it coming

a faulty ground can indeed cause a jumpy tach. if you're certain the timing is right on, (use a light for dizzy timing) all hands point electrical.
