hey guys...
I've heard a lot about the dual cams motor with single cam pistons can add your compressions....
will the dual cam head work on single head block instead of just change the pistons?
for doing this setup, do I need to change anything else?

You'll have to search a little. The answer is out there. It will bolt up, but from what I read getting it to run is a pain.

Putting the dual cam head on the single cam block is said to be far too much of a pain in the ass to EVER be worth the gains one might experience as a result. Let the records show that I do not recall even one person having described making it work before they did something else instead.
As far as single cam pistons in a twincam, you'll have to search.

Anyways, I've heard that there is a LOT of work that has to be done to swap the heads between the blocks and that it is far easier just to change the pistons. IIRC it will make your compression somewhere close to 11.1:1

which brings me to another point, does anybody know who currently holds the most powerfull N/A KA???

my friend did this a while ago all ask him about it

Don't do it is not worth the time. The DOHC Block will not line up with the SOHC Head. just swap a DOHC and be over with it. already try it.

Don't you mean single cam block on dual cam head?

Oops, I meant one thing and typed the other

The single cam flat top pistons in a twin cam motor makes just over a 10:1 n/a motor people do this for scca racing and such where you have to have stock motor internals. Granted its not stock but it is oem nissan with the correct engine code in a since and they get away with it. The only reason to do this is for stock racing guidline purposes, otherwise you can build a higher comp n/a motor w/ after market higher quality pistons. Hope this helps

what class are you referring to?
if i recall the gcr for 2008 for improved touring...
maximum compression allowed for Club IT is 9.5:1.
and to stay on subject, yes putting sohc pistons in the dohc long block will raise the compression ratio. but by how much? i forgot, you'll need to search. theres also two different pistons used in the ka24e. the early 1989 pistons WITHOUT AIT sensor had flat top pistons and had 9.1:1 c/r. the later ka24e with AIT sensor had dished pistons which had a 8.9 (i think) c/r.

The early model KAE pistons won't work in a DOHC motor from what I've heard, due to the shape of the piston causing clearance issues with the valves, I.E. smooshed valves. The Later model KAE pistons do work in a DOHC block though. This is all based on my readings.

i have a single cam ka and i have a jwt cam, rb20 fpr, header ingen short ram intake and ported head and intake mani. the ported head and intake mani are not even on the car yet and i can still beat dual cam ka's

yes i have also read the same thing, valve clearance issue with the flat top ka24e piston. i forgot where, but im sure it was on freshalloy.

Do all KA24DE 93-98 share the same exact pistons?

I'm almost positive all KA24DE motors that came out of the 240sx from 91-98 had the same pistons. I'm not sure on the altima/frontier/pathfinder (I was told the pathfinder had a KA at some point) pistons though.
