Two days ago my alternator went out, so my s14 is parked 3 blocks away from my house and it gives me the worst feeling ever. I cant move or, its just sitting there. I had work today so I had my friend install the new s13 ka alternator I bought. When I got back to my car, he was just finishing up. So he connects the battery and my alarm, lights and horn go off. he takes the connection off. Now there are nothing electrical works in my car except my headlights. so Please someone help me. I just want to drive my car again, Its vital to my life and now im stuck along with it. If anyone has some insight please chime in, if your willing to help me I will pay for your gas, buy your lunch/dinner whatever drinks. I hate asking people for help, but this is my last resort without having to pay to tow. So Please anyone who knows how to help.

check your alternator ground..also look in ur fuse box in the engine bay and look at your 75a fuse..lastly make sure your friend connected the alternator correctly.make shure he didnt ground out the power wire by not putting that little plasic spacer in between the wire and alternator housing.. lmk the results

Just finished helping HIM (http://www.zilvia.net/f/member.php?u=73085) out, lucky for him I live close by and wasn't doing anything this morning.
The first thing I checked was his alternator +12v (both contact at fuse box and checked continuity on alternator body to see if the insulating washer was installed) and grounds, they were good. Starter wiring was also good.
Alternator 100A fuse (S14 SE) was blown. I'm guessing this is what caused his battery to die. Went to Kragen and replaced it.
Battery showed 12.6v, ignition showed 12.3v, but the starter pin (when the ignition was switched to 'start') only showed 2v. We got a relay click in the cabin, but no starter solenoid click. There is no continuity between the starter solenoid's B/Y wire with the B/Y wire on the ignition switch.
I'm guessing it's because the alarm was reset. His key fob remote no longer communicates with the alarm, and that coupled with the fact that the starter solenoid doesn't click (and no continuity on the starter wire) is leading me to believe it's an alarm problem. I found the alarm brain, but couldn't follow all the leads to find where it split the starter wire to bypass it.
We push-started the car, and it fired right up... hopefully he's home and will be posting soon :)
