i am replacing a blown head gasket on an engine that wan hardly run after the blow of the gasket.

i used a feeler gauge and straight edge on the head and could only get the .002 gauge through one spot.

what is the max warp tolerance on a ka24sohc?

thanks a lot

i think if u can get any feeler gauge its warped. once its warped its warped no matter what. the less the better since u don't have get it shaved as much. ur lucky my head was about .013 off. I think the most is 0.12 from nissan but it worked great and doesn't change a thing. Except i had to shave my front cover.

still send it to a reputable machine shop to have them pressure test it for leaks/cracks, and have them check it for straightness.

This is the correct way to do a head gasket job. Just slapping a new gasket on without sending the head out is half-assing it, period.

If its that dirty, have the machine shop throw it in their hot tank for a little extra.
