alright just install my cosworth headgasket. this is my second time doing it. before i was using a stock gasket and blew it. so took out everything. got my head back from the shop and i put everything back together. then when i turn the key, it would crank but no start. me and my friend check to see if im getting any spark. im getting spark so i check to see if im getting fuel. i am getting fuel but when i took off my coilpack and sparkplugs. looking down into my top piston. there a little wet and i can smell the fuel. what is wrong? can someone help me out. thanks

Check your cas timing! this is the most common problem for no start rebuilt sr20's.

set crank pulley 2nd mark from left, gold link on the crank pulley dot, two silver links on the cam sproket dots. stab cas in with dot on the right lined up with dot on the housing. dot on left should then line up with dot on housing.

the two silver dot dont line up no more. my friend drop the chain so i did it by looking. start it up and ran good. this was my first time doing it too. right now its my second and its not starting up.

i think you're at tdc but not on compression stroke. spin it a few more times until silver chain links line up with dots on cam sprokets when keyways are at ~10 oclock (intake) and 12 oclock(exhaust). if that never happens your timing is off!

I think you have the wrong dots lined up in the on the CAS.

The dot nearer the outside should be lined up with the notch in the CAS after proper installation.

good luck.

check the dots on the cts and the sprockets !! IF they dont line up it will not start !!

exactly what everyone else said. line up the two off colored links with the dots. It will happen eventually with enough cranking as long as you put the chain back on right.
