Does anyone have a flowmaster 60 on there 240? I heard a sound clip on the flowmaster website of a 1.8 honda and it sounded awsome, I was wondering if anyone knew if I could expect to get the same power gains with this muffler as I would with a traditional glass pack straight through design, any help would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion flormasters have there own special "tuff" sound.. They sound awesome on american cars, but not so great on 4cyl.... Im more into american cars and i do know that flowmaster is a GREAT muffler, great deep throaty sound, decent hp gains.. i love them..but not on imports..
But what i say don't matter, what does matter is, did you like the sound, if you did then go for it, i know meineke's sell flowmasters and do custom piping jobs, If you are gonna do that i would suggest tellign them not to put a resonator....
I never heard the flowmaster although I can tell you from looking at the design that your not going to get very much gain from it at all. Even with a straight exhaust like the 5Zigen you only get about 7rwhp. I had an HKS Sport Exhaust that I Loved for the fact that it was so quiet, although it did almost nothing for performance. Maybe sound is more important to you then maybe you might want to try the flowmaster, although I cant imagine how it would sound. If performance is your main reason for the exhaust then look around for a 5Zigen or Apexi N1 or something like those designs that dont have any bends in them.

Flowmaster is just a muffler so if you get mandrel bends in your piping it would add to the HP gains plus flowmasters are really cheap , you could get any tip you want welded on,
Apexi , 5Zigen and HKS and etc etc are good too but they are JDM which means its imported which means it more expensive .. US products are almost always cheaper.. unless were talking about made in china/taiwan stuff.. thats different =)

What do you guys think I could expect if I went with the flowmaster 60 , as well as getting larger diamiater pipe installed from the cat converter back? If so, what diamiater should I go with? I wanna see gains in power, but I dont wanna lose to much torque ya know?

Ryan, I have a friend that is running 2 1/2" piping from the cat to flowmaster muffler (single inlet/dual outlet)... He said he noticed a decent power increase... I noticed his car was a lot louder!!! Sounded better than the honda pic(I've heard it)... The Muffler resonated in the car the loudest at 2500rpm's... But, it sounded best to when he let off the gas pedal!!! By the way, he had the shop weld two chrome slash tips on the flowmaster muffler, and it looked very stock... Hoped this helps... Alan

why do our engines sound better than honda engine w/ mufflers?.. it seems like ours roar and honda like not.. whine but make a high pitched noise.. is due to high revs?...

I'd have to the that flowmaster is a POS muffller on 4 cylinders-car. I had one on my 240(not remember which kinda) and it wasn't worth it for the sound, even less performance. After a few months I got tired of the LOUD sound, got a masterflow and I'm happy with it. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

I listend to that sound bite and it sounds nice on that integra. My question is would that work on a turbo charged 240?? Its got to be better either way than the shitty dual muffler stock stuff am I right?

Darkraptor42, they only make the delta 60 series in 2 and 2 1/4" diameter sizes. Try the 40 and 50 series. If fitment is an issue just go with their 3.5" low profile oval mufflers with a side exit.
My brother has a prelude with stock b20a aside from an air intake and Flowmaster delta 60 series 2" exhaust and borla tip. Listen to the sound clip. I think it has a little roar to it for being stock.

Hi peoples, that was my prelude. The motor is out and awaiting funding for a trip to the machine shop with new internals.
Can't wait to get my own 240 coupe. I've been drivin' my bro's hatchback around. Maybe he will get magnaflow for it, have to wait and see.
S13silady, that would be awesome if you could post your sound bite. I listened to the sounds on their website, an rsx and gti. Sounded alright but I want to hear the SR!
why are magnaflow, flowmaster, borla ghetto mufflers? cuz they made in america? I had flowmasters on my Z28 for five years and they were still rust-free when I sold it. I see nothing wrong with using these mufflers on import cars. sorry, but I like a deep, mellow exhaust tone not a buzz can.
