Hey there,

I got a few questions, I've searched the forums as much as I could before I resorted to making a thread.

I have a 89 KA24E with about 106k miles. OEM pistons are 89mm but what if I were to get 89.5mm pistons such as the Flat Top KA24E pistons that raise from 8.6:1 to 9.1:1, would I need to do any machining to the block? And is a 89.5mm ring set required for such pistons?

Thanks for reading/help.

Yes, and yes. Unless you like to grind your cylinder walls down .5mm while driving.

Yeah just drive without oil for couple blocks. 1 block for every mm. So id say about 5 blocks.

P.s- its a joke.

.5 mm is commonly known as a "20 overbore" you would need to bore the block, hone the walls, and properly gap the rings.
