i was curious if anyone would like to try and make another STL meet. if ya would be interested in doing so, post when and where you would like to do it. i am pretty flexable with hours and dates, but lets set it up for about a month in advance, so almost everyone can make it. and i would prefer to do it during the daytime =)

Just say when and where, I'll try to make it. I would love to meet some fellow 240 people (I don't know if it is me or what, but it seems like everyone I see in a 240 has no idea I am smiling/waving because I have the same car)!

I don't have any great ideas, except for maybe a restaurant or something inside since it is a bit chilly outside (plus food is a bonus!.

I agree... lets skip the crusing thing and do it somewhere where it is going to be warm..... LOL I may actually have the SR powered car running by then too!!! LOL We'll see, depends on how long it takes the parts to get in. If a small group wants to ever get together I am down for that just about anytime....

just let me know when you guys(gals) would like to meet up, like what days are good for you and all that crap. i would like to do it in about a month, if thats all good for you all.

I'll try to come if it's a set time and date. I just don't want to come out and have only 2 people there. I'm game for going out to eat too.
edit:daytime would be excellent

but lets decide on a date first before we make a spot to go.

hell yeah, the more the... well, i'm not going to say merrier, but definately better. yeah, by january i should probably have some bodywork done... probably won't be painted by then, unfortunately. i'm going for some skyline blue...
so what's everyone's plan for their 240's? i'm getting mine fixed up, then comes a set of KYB AGX's and Tein S Tech springs hopefully by march, along with strut bars and a tension bar... and with any luck, i should have all the money together to turbo my KA by the start of summer. not looking for massive increases, just about 200 or so rwhp... enough to eat most of the competition and turn a few heads while not being too obvious.

crioten

well, we dont have to do it on the 18th...if you can come up with another date, we might all be able to come.

i would like to try and make it so that the most people can come, but if you all have requested off work already...

Alan, let us know another day you can make it. we want everyone to try and come =)

and what if eat somewhere in south county and cruiz around if it is kinda warm there is hooters, red lobster and all kinds of stuff and i just talked to a guy in st. charles today who might come as well he has a 95 240sx with s14 motor swap

I think it is going to be pretty hard to get around everyones schedule. I work wed though Sat 2pm to midnight, so I cant make any Saturdays. I would love to come but you should probably pick a date and stick with it unless the majority cant come for whatever reason. If it is on a day that I can come I will be there but I am not interested in "cruising" its too damn cold for that BS!! Not my scene anyways. LOL

Nerfdude
12-18-2002, 08:33 PM
sat or sun is fine. actually... any day of the week is fine. i can ask off whenever i please... and as for cruising... cmon, if we're gonna be in SoCo, we gotta make at least one lap around lindbergh... make the 240 presence known, oh yeah :p i can see the cop in front of ronnie's now, as 15 of the same car drive by in a big line...

oberkill
12-19-2002, 06:07 AM
Sunday is good for me. My SR should be back on the road by then too.... LOL I will be there for sure but will pass on any "cruising" just so thats out there from the start... :) Last thing I need is any cop paying any attention to me.... I still have the car registered in Kansas, has more illegal parts then legal ones, and is LOUD! At least it will still be 3 differant colors!!!! LOL and one of these days I should get a MO drivers licence or something too...

kansas city is way cooler for meets ;) the highways are confusing though.

tnord
12-19-2002, 11:12 PM
highways suck in KC??? i've heard nothing but bad things about STL transportation.

4 meets in KC??? where the fOOk was i?

damn filters

oberkill
12-19-2002, 11:48 PM
The roads on the MO side of KC suck!!! Roads are good where I live in St. Louis alot better than when I lived in Lenexa. I think people get confused on I-435 when they come in to KC from out of town... LOL We have had tons of meets in KC, pretty much have at least 1 big one every year for the past 3 years. Lots of smaller ones too. Last years last big meet in KC was kinda infamous more for the hotel than anything else...... ;) I am going to put on a meet here in St. Louis this summer/spring sometime that should be pretty big. The track in KC sucks at least we can get a decent track here and possibly get some autocross going too.

Edit - if you want to keep up with whats going on in the Midwest then keep an eye on the Midwest240sx.com board. The page in down right now but we are working on that. The board is up here http://pub10.ezboard.com/bmidwest240club

Alan

whateverjames
12-20-2002, 11:31 PM
hehe. i've been to seven meets in KC. the highways don't really suck, they're just really confusing if you're from out of town. it wouldn't take long to get used to them though. i actually liked the highways, not crowded and no cops.

alan have you taken over that message board now? can't wait for the meet in the summer.
edit: i just now realized it's a different board

oberkill
12-21-2002, 02:20 AM
I got tired of the old board so I made a new one. I needed complete control over it anyways. Louis is out of it right now with his work schedule so a few of us are working on keeping everything together. A new midwest240sx site will go up in January hopefully.

Alan

i don't see how anyone could really get confused with stl's highway system... it's got to be one of the most simplistic setups of all time. once you cross the river to ill, though, it gets pretty fugged up...

HOW ABOUT THE FIRST SUNDAY IN FEB THE 2ND
WE ALL HAVE AGREED ON EATING SO HOW ABOUT
NOW LETS TRY TO DECIDE A PLACE I DONT KOWN WERE EVERYONE LIVES BUT AT 270N AND DORSETT RD THERE IS A PLACE CALLED KRIEGERS AND THE LOCAL DSM CLUB GOES THERE AND EAT IN THE UPPER PART AND THEN INSTEAD OF CRUISING IF IT IS WARM WE CAN ALL GO DOWN THE ROAD TO CREVE COURE PARK AND CHECK OUT EVERYONES CARS

Nerfdude
12-22-2002, 02:31 PM
well... if we're meeting on a sunday, there wouldn't be much cruising going on anywhere anyway.... so yeah, i'm all for kriesers. but... anyone ever been to frailey's? good stuff...

12-29-2002, 03:11 PM

Nerfdude
12-31-2002, 06:56 PM
frailey's is just a bar and grill kinda place... decent food, nothing special. i just kinda like them is all... there's one on butler hill right off 55, and i think there's another one on watson.

NSMOSILVIADET

How about we just meet at Kriegers on 270 and Dorsett around 1 or 2 and consider that the place to be on Sunday the 2nd? Anyone have problems with that? and if so, post where you think we should meet.

01-16-2003, 11:38 PM
Well we have a few Ok's let go ahead and set the location. I say unless there is a big problem lets set the place at Kriegers on 270. Now we just need to set a time..... At this rate it will be July before we get anything done.... LOL I know I will be there and at least 2 others so who else we got?

Alan

01-17-2003, 02:10 PM
I'll be there unless an unforseen emergency arises. Actually, as far as time goes it would be great if we could meet around 2 or 3, bu I should be able to make it earlier if necessary. Its up to everyone.

By the way, where do you guys go to have work done on your cars? Dealerships mainly? Or does someone know of a good aftermarket/street-mod emphasis car place?

oberkill
01-17-2003, 06:07 PM
I do all my car work myself.... (here comes the shameless promotion.. LOL) I run www.project240.com so I have access to whatever I need!! I dont have any recomendations as far as shops in this area, I have a few you may want to stay away from but I wont put that out in a public forum. I will tell you my opinion in person of course!! :)

Alan

Alright. I know of a few to stay away from, I guess I'll just ask you who is good in person. Right now I am just having the dealership fix my car--Today I am getting that fuel injection cleaner service done (among other things). I hope they treat my baby good!

Nerfdude
01-20-2003, 12:08 PM
erghhh... i'll probably show up, but my 240 might not make it. i swerved to miss a dog last week and destroyed the passenger door, fender, and mirror by hitting a street sign. i've gotten two quotes: 1300 and 1150. so, i'm going to buy the parts myself at a junkyard, get power folding mirrors, and work on some of the other body problems (trunk, dents, etc.).... i'm going to do all the necessary prep work myself up to primering it, and then take it and have it painted. SO, i'm probably going to take it off the streets for a couple months and buy some cheap POS to drive around for now...

but i'll try to be there! :D

crioten
01-22-2003, 06:00 PM
sorry to hear about the car man =(

either kriegers or fraileys works for me, its all up to all of you to decide on a place

so what will it be? up to you all, i guess someone who really wants it at one place will win...=) but please decide on a place. the emails i got pretty much asked how many people will be there and where it will be, but i got 3 that will show up, lol

at least we are trying to do it, pick a place where you like to see us meet at, and make sure it isnt hard to find for people who are coming from other areas.

thanks glen

If it's going to be on a Sunday, I won't be able to make it. It's like a 6-hour drive from here, so getting to work on Monday will be pure hell (not enough notice for my stupid boss to let me take off Monda 2/3). Oh, well. It's probably gonna be cold anyway--I'll make it to a summertime one.

oberkill
01-22-2003, 09:32 PM
Ok its getting pretty late in the game so I am going to go ahead and set the place and time so we can actually get some people there. Sorry if I am stepping on anyones toes, I just want at least some of us to be able to make it.

Lets set this for 1:00 at kriegers on the 2nd of Febuary. If there are any huge problems with this go ahead and post here and we will make changes as needed.

I used to live in St. Louis, and I know two things. One is that the highway system there is easy to drive on, and there is a place in the deep county there that carries almost any part for a 240 or a 300. I dont know the exact adress or phone number but i do know that it does exist off of 30(Gravois rd.)

After looking online for a few hours I think that this is place Alan. Z-Works# 314-942-3846. I heard r from a mechanic in the county there that this place had tons of parts, and of all places in the midwest. Anyhow I think this is the place that he is talking about. I know that it is somewhere way out on 30(Gravois), put there where they are putting in the new road. I hope ths helps somewhat.:D

Kriegers is on dorsett right off of 270 where ever anyone comes from take 270 to dorsett and kriegers is west of 270
so if you go north on 270 to dorset go left
south go right.
kriegers is in the shopping plaza to the left after the second stop light and its in the back corner

02-01-2003, 04:48 PM
The Midwest club is fairly organized and we do have smaller "units" within the club so it would be doable. If you want to do this please get everything organized and e-mail me. I will talk to the other "leadership" from the Midwest so we can make it official and we will add it to the webpage we are still building.

I would say that supporting the Midwest club is a great way to keep in touch with others and to know about all the meets we have. The club is a little disorganized at the moment but it is the winter and you know how that goes!! I guarentee it will be back up and rolling hard again for the good weather season!

Damn, I've been out of the 240 world for awhile. Working every weekend, health issues, etc, etc. Guess there are some 240 owners in the area I don't know. I've meet James, Alan, Ryan, Tracy and I think 240Gurl (was that you with the black S14a at the import get together at Adrenaline that Ryan introduced me to?).

Finally have weekends off for the time being, although my family does take up most of the free time. I'd be interested in meeting up with the locals too. Not really into cruising or racing since I can't stand the drama of the police and I'm getting old (28) and very dull :) Hopefully I can fit auto-X in my schedule this year, I believe the first one in StL is in early March. I'm still dreading the idea of having to wear a helmet in my sunroofed S14 since my head touches the headliner now. Since my car is slow and boost is awhiles off, maybe my car can at least do well around the cones. At least I have decent matching wheels and tires now that should be up to the task.

Anyone going to the 100 Acre Wood Rally Feb. 20-22? It's SCCA ProRally and is supposed to be one of the big ones of the season so there should be most of the better rally drivers on the series there. Gotta love those Evo's, WRX's, and turbo Tiburons. I plan on going early Saturday morning since that day should have the most action. I believe one driver was killed last year so these guys take it seriously. I think there is 7 stages for a total of around 225 miles (not sure though). As long as the weather isn't too bad it should be a good time. Hope to see some of you there.

Hey Mazinger, I turn 28 on Sat I'm not old yet I hope:eek: I work at the mexico rd Pizza Hut and the Mr Goodcents at jungerman and 94. where is St Pete do you hang? the car does not sound familliar, it sounds like a good looking combo though.

Actually I live in the condos at Jungermann and Willott. I don't really hang much since my job and family keep me tied up. I really haven't driven my car but for 3 times in the last six months so that may be why you haven't seen it. It's red, has a painted .Nissan front lip spoiler, lowered about 1.5" with the GAB Revos, has silver SSR Integral (5 spoke), and a Apexi N1 Dual. If you see an asian guy running around in a car that fits that description, its me. If you see someone other than an asian driving around in it, call the Police cuz my car was just stolen :)

Yeah that was me. That was the crazy night that the crotch rockets were racing camaros in the street in front of adrenaline!!!

I'm getting old (28) and very dull Hopefully I can fit auto-X in my schedule this year, I believe the first one in StL is in early March.

The first one is March 23rd at the UMB Bank Pavilion (riverport). That would be great, that way I'm not the only Nissan there this year again!!!

hey puck :) where is the rally at? i'd really like to go to that. i don't care HOW far away it is, i gotta see this!
i stay away from cruising and street racing as well. now, i just enjoy driving my car. it was fun for a while. it's hard to believe you are 28, though. you look like you're in your early 20's.

i heard adrenaline got robbed

The Rally is going to be in south-central Missouri. Around the towns of Salem, Ellington, Potosi, etc. Here's the site for the event www.100aw.org

Yeah, this is a pretty high profile event. Don't think this is just some local guys messing around. There will be teams from all over the US and probably from other countries too. You can do a search of "100 acre wood rally" and see how much stuff is out there and some cool pix of last years cars, lots of yummy Evo's.

Most people don't believe I'm 28 (turn 29 in May), I still get carded for cigs

My car is pretty much still the same as when you last saw it, slow. The only thing different is that I got a painted Nissan front lip spoiler (such an improvement), new wheels and tires.

Didn't hear about Adrenaline being robbed, of course I live the life of a hermit :D What was stolen?

Someone stole a Civic and Altezza's?...Sick, some truely sick people:D Seriously, why the hell would they steal Altezza's? What morons. Last time I was at Adrenaline there were much better things to be taken. Those thiefs were truely idiots, had to have been ricers. To take taillights instead of electronics like the Boost Contollers, AFC's, etc is just assinine. I hope those thiefs end up getting caught and get a good beat down.

I hope some of you get to go to the Rally, I mean it's only once a year.

Also, the Novice School for SCCA Auto-X will be held April 5 (Saturday) at UMB. Cost is $50 and its put on by www.Soloperformance.com . I'm going to sign up so I can get the feel of it in front of other novices so there's no pressure when I spin my car :) I'll treat it also as a test and tune. Anyone wanting to Auto-X this year would greatly benefit from this so you can get your feet wet with the help of instructors and probably get more runs in than you normally would. There are 30 spots and they go quick. I was like number 33 last year so no dice. It would be real nice to have some 240's representing and a perfect venue to get to know each other.

NSMOSILVIADET, I wish I could make it but my work schedule won't make it possible. Do you have any links/pics of the car, I'd like to see it.

adrenaline got robbed BAD. $100,000 worth of stuff taken. i'm friends with charles there if any of you know him. anyway, i'm new to this forum, and i would be really interested in attending a meet, or any get together. i've had my 240 for about a half year now, and i love it. thanks guys.

Wow, $100,000!!! They got cleaned out. I didn't think they had that much stuff there, unless there were a couple of blinged out show car sitting in the bays.

Importnut1212, what kind of 240 do you drive? Do you live out here in St. Charles?

Have any of you guys gotten your car emmission tested lately. Apparently they are changing the way they do things and are not going to use the dyno on OBDII cars any more. All they are going to do is hook up to your OBDII port and read the computer and codes. If you throw a code you fail, simple as that. I think this may make things interesting. I'm not sure how the things work but I imagine that the ECU has a distinctive ID for the scanners to read so I'm thinking SR ECU's might not jive and cause an automatic failure.

I don't remember if the older OBDI had the data ports so maybe the guys with S13's are going to be okay.

However, if all they are checking is the OBDII and not actual emmissions, I think a KA-T might easily be able to pass. As long as you can trick the computer into thinking your O2 sensor and other sensors are reading clean numbers anything can go. I'm not condoning it or anything but that means you can just gut your cat and even get rid of your EGR system and as long as the ECU thinks its there you'll pass.

It really looks like a KA-T might be the way to go unless you have connections with Gateway Clean Air. Now if only GReddy can get off its lazy butt and get that turbo manifold made so they can release their turbo kit, I'll be set. I've heard that the rest of the system is done, just waiting for a finished manifold. Of course its already been two years in the making. Since it's supposed to be CARB exempt, emmissions hear shouldn't be a problem.

i have a 95 red se with an s14 sr20det and some other goods as well. i go to SLU, but i'm originally from the area. yeah, adrenaline got about 12 sets of wheels/tires taken, all their turbos (probably about 5-10) all of their electronics, intakes, headers, and just various other things.

i'd love to get in on some 240sx events in the stl area, i'm all about the meet at adrenaline in march.

You do realize that it is $50 and not $450, right? I think that is a d&mn good deal considering you'll get more runs than a regular auto-X. I mean, it cost $25 (iirc) for non-SCCA members to run a regular event. For $25 more you get instruction, more runs, a less stressful environment, and your crappy times won't be reflected in your season average :D Maybe you are getting Novice School mixed up with Evolution School which does cost more.

MazingerS14

As long as you have decent tread left on your tires, have decent oil, working brakes, and properly working cooling system you should be just fine. Most of the courses they put up you'll stay in 2, shifting to 3 will usually give you slower times, even though you'll be bouncing off your rev limiter in the straights. You have to realize that depending on if they hold an event at UMB or Gateway that the courses run around 30 seconds to one minute (for the experienced guys regardless of what they drive).

Yes I know, I am not getting them mixed up. I originally wanted to do the 2 Phase Evolution (not performance specialties) Driving school May 2nd and 3rd. Class size is only 12, not 30, so it would have been more one to one with more time to do runs. but it is $225 per phase, and the second phase on Sat. is already full.

I still think the performance specialties one will be cool though--I need all the seat time I can get.

Did anyone else go to the rally? I saw a very nice red S14 there at one of the stages by Salem.

The rally was by far the coolest thing i have ever seen in Missouri. There were alot of Lancer Evos there. I took a couple of pictures there, but not of the good action because i was enjoying the action. You can check out my pics here (http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290626373) and I should be getting a video from a friend soon.

It was alot of fun, except my car got stuck in the Mud about 4 times at the Potosi County Fairgrounds:D

Yeah, that was my S14. Thanks for the props. You didn't happen to be the guy in the S13 (I think it was grey)? If so, sorry I didn't introduce myself, I was focused on getting to the action.

I had a blast at the rally. It was colder than sh#t, but was worth freezing my balls off for. I waited for almost 4 hours for stage 11 in Bixby since they were running behind 2 hours. Were you at that stage? There was just so much craziness between stage 10 and 11, especially that close call with the hoosier driving his pick up truck down the hot course. Watching grown men start a fire by dousing the logs with 10w30 and a road flare was quite amusing, not to mention toxic:)

I too had lots of trouble getting around. My summer tires (Dunlop FM901) have no grip when its cold, throw in some mud and gravel, and I might as well have racing slicks.

Rennen
02-28-2003, 08:42 PM
Yeah, that was me in the S13. haha, it USED to be black, but this winter gray is much closer to its actual color.

I was only there Saturday I dont recall the numbers of the stages, but I just missed the stage by Salem, when you saw my car. I got to see them race under that overpass. Then I went to the Golf Course spectator point in Viburnum. That was awesome, they were coming in in high 4th gear and then drifting a 90º gravel turn. Did you see that one? I went to the next spectator stage in Potosi, but once the sun went down, it got hella cold and I left.

The best part was the sounds. Do you know if one of those lead Evos had a misfiring system? If not it was sure backfiring alot.

I am from the area around that area, so yeah, I know lots of interesting ways to start fires:D

James, I hope you know, they are all AUTOMATICS!!! That is the only reason I passed on it after finding out about it on solo2.org

I'm still debating whether I want to spend $39 to drive a bloated, understeering, automatic. It might be worth it just for some instruction and to dog out someone else's car. Maybe I can try to take out as many cones as I can on purpose:D
